The Crowd
Jamsil Baseball Stadium This past Sunday Shauna and I, spent our afternoon at the ballpark in Jamsil watching fifth place LG Twins take on second place Lotte Giants. With a month before playoffs, every game counts for LG. To date this is our third baseball game. The one common denominator is the Lotte Giants. It seems every game we are destined to watch the Giants are playing. Although this is partially my own fault or was it?
I was pretty certain the game was suppose to be Twins versus Eagles. But wherever I obtained my information was tainted. Either way. Today's game we ended up sitting in right field. Tickets 8,000 won. Can't complain. Before we located our seats, we spent a bit of time outside the stadium killing the hour before the game started.
We wandered into the LG Twins shop with 200 other fans searching through the
End of Summer Sale which turned out they had some fair deals going on.
Regular priced Jerseys with patches 115,000 won were selling for 86,000 won, a 25%!d(MISSING)iscount. Hats, socks, ball caps, banners, flags and more were being given away except I couldn't breathe because I was slowly getting

LG Twins Player Autograph Session claustrophobic. Grabbing Shauna, we bailed out of the store. Went into the GS25 convenience store buying 4-500ml cans of beer and a bag of nacho chips. Wandering around the stadium we spotted a second souvenir shop. Stopping long enough to debate prices and watch Shauna buy a black LG Twins away jersey.
Making our way to the stands, we picked our way through the crowd. Found great seats. Bought roasted squid,
gimbap rolls (sushi rolls) and water. Punching our tickets we found a pair of seats in the middle row three-quarters up the section with a gorgeous view of right field. Although we were stuck in our section of the stadium we were happy as two baseball fans could be.
The game turned out to be a defensive struggle with only one run scored in the first inning by the Giants. As the game progressed we watched fans, talked about our life changes up ahead, the inevitable return to Canada, searching out jobs in Vancouver and possible adventures to get involved in once we are back in North America. Eventually, we began singing the random songs as we interpreted them. Shauna soon fell for Cho In-seong

LG Twins Warm Up (LG's catcher) asking what his player number was? She wanted to get her jersey screen printed with his information after the game. It turns out he's # 44. I laughed.
Entering the 6th inning the game picked up its pace as LG took out three solid hits within the first four batters. Scoring the tying run and then an all out collision at home plate between LG's right fielder Lee Byung-Kyu and Giants catcher Kang Min-Ho. Kang stood his ground as catchers tend to do flattening Lee even though Lee scored the advancing run.
LG scored one more run bringing the score to 3 - 1 going into the 8th. The 8th came and went quickly. Nearly back to the slow pace of the rest of the game. In the top of the 9th, the Giants batters struck back connecting on back to back solo shots pushing runners forward around the bases. LG held tough catching two popups by catcher Cho In-seong and left fielder Park Yong-Taik.
Smiling as the final batter hit a single shot at the short stop who threw him out at first to finish off the game. This being our third game. We
Pre-game II
LG Twins Sprints were happy to have attended. And I started humming the classic baseball tune...
"Take me out to the ball game,
Take me out with the crowd.
Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jack,
I don't care if I never get back,
Let me root, root, root for the home team,
If they don't win it's a shame.
For it's one, two, three strikes, you're out,
at the old ball game."
