Day 99 MondayI'm regrettably now awaiting the shuttle to Newark airport for my final domestic flight...to Chicago for two final nights of opera. Then home on Wednesday and back to work next MOnday. Only when I focus on specific places and events dp I realise how much I have done and how long it has been. The scary part is that I am still having a wonderful time...I guess when the travel bug bite

October 4th 553pmWe had to have an early start this morning so we could make the 815am horn blowing. Let me explain during breakfast every morning there is a member of the Johnson family who own the Enzian Inn blows the traditional German horn I am sure it has a technical name but I am calling it the big giant horn at 815am and Renee really wanted to see it. So we had a nice breakfast

I have related it to George square it has important buildings around it museums Presidencial building around the corner and many people come to visit but if you one or blocks in one direction you are not in the best of areas. The first day I arrived

Saqqara and Dashur

Today I travelled about 30 km south of the city to the ancient burial ground of Saqqara. It is home to Zoser's pyramid which is the oldest in the world. I also visited many of the Old Kingdom tombs. Next I went another 10 km south to Dashur and saw the Bent Pryamid as well as the Red Pyramid. I even got to go inside and explore the various chambers.
