C'est la vie So the past couple of days have been pretty gross and rainycould probably explain my rather morose mood and this rather long and rambling blog entry haha. Can't complain too much since the rainy days are very few and far between but those kinds of days are definitely the hardest. Trying to save money on our salary means avoiding activities that cost money. That's not too difficu

We arrive in Nice a nice afternoon exploring. It is sunny and cool. We explore Castle Hill where there is no longer a castle despite the name and walk along the beach. We spend the next day exploring and visit the Chagall and Matisse museums. We visit the Russian Cathedral funded by Czar Nicolas before he is murdered.

Stressed out....and maybe homeless Hey guys So Miss Harriet had the wonderful idea of me keeping a travel blog while I am in Nice and she had a very valid point that it would cut back on the otherwise huge number of emails I'd be writing So...at the risk of being a huge tool I'm going to try this travel blog business. I'm flying out on the 29th. Yep that's rig

I set my internal alarm to snooze.About an hour later the rain subsided. Good. I have big outdoor plans today.I headed out on my run shortly thereafter heading down toward the beach. I turned left once I neared the beach to head up the hill and see the views of the city. Damn. I fogot

Lots of train time

I left Barcelona this morning and caught the 845 train to Montpierre one of the first in a series of trains to get to Nice. At the station in Barcelona we had to take a number for buying tickets. This was a bit foreign to most of us who had been taking trains so there was a continuous flow of wisdom between all the Americans that could not figure out what was going on. As one became enlightened

Saturday September 5 2009I woke up as the train began slowing down around 3 a.m. and then fell asleep again. At one point in the night with the rocking of the train my head began to hit the side of the train in a rhythmic rocking motion. I am so glad I had my little sleep comfort inflatable campingtravel pillow. With this standing between my head and the side of the train I was able to ge

I donrsquot know what the English have to do with anything but the promenade runs along and just above the beach and is quite long it took me close to 2 hours round trip. During the moments when I could manage to tear my eyes away from the gorgeous Mediterranean waters I not
