Second day in Uruguay today we visited famous Punta del Este at the ocean shore. A 230 hour bus ride took us to Uruguays most famous beach resort. Fortunately the weather was close to perfect as there were no clouds at all we were able to spend a beautiul sunny day at the sea. Unlike during the south american winter Punta was not very busy. Despite the nice weather we pretty much had the wh

In fact the high season is from December 26 to January 31 a middle season is the three first weeks in February later you can say you are in low season until end of March or perhaps April. Nevertheless we found that if you want good weather a little cols for the sea and nice promenades

It was beautifully situated on the coast. After the agent called 7 places he found me a place to sleep at a little bed and breakfast type place called Posada de Angel. An afternoon thunderstorm has dropped rain and the ubiquitous humidity onto this cluster of high rise hotels condos and bling bling lining the sandy shores of Uruguayrsquos southeastern most point.
Through all my travels I have never found a place I love quite as much as Punta del Este Uruguay. A city by the sea it boasts a combination of luxury and simplicity of beautiful exclusive resorts full of delightfully pleasant guests and employees alike. Perhaps it's that South American charm that gives Punta del Este its appeal... but that's not quite it either. Let me give you an idea of wha

An extra day in Uruguay due to travel connections gave us time to get to the legendary Punta Del Este playgound of rich porteos. Straight off the bus we dropped off bags at the first hostel we saw and were on the beach in half an hour...Obviously the wrong beach It was beautiful though and it was only in the afternoon that we stumbled across a busier beach.
The bus trip to the resort peninsula Punta del Este took about 1 12 hours and we ventured through 3 Uruguayan Departments provinces they have 19 in total. It is located in the Moldonano Department and was formerly a fishing village but is now an exclusive resort area. It is located about where the River Plate which separates Buenos Aires from Uruguay meets the Atlantic Ocean. Unfortunately
