Northern Ireland has been a highlight of the trip and my trip to Portstewart on the coast to see the Giant's Causeway was spectacular. I finally met up with my friends in Galway and had a bit of craic a good laugh with them as the sun shined down on us. It was another lovely day and as we chatted about memories of Prague and what the future had in store for us athletes were running and biking

Matt Swann and the Whiskey Distillery

Now I know what it is like to be Charlie in the Chocolate Factory but this time it happens to be a whiskey distillery. In fact the worlds oldest distillery. This Sunday I went with Ronald and Minda to Bushmills a very small town outside the surf town of Portrush. We arrived at the distillery and took a tour of the Old Bushmills Distillery. Founded in 1608 with permission of King James the

Today was nothing short of breathtaking as my parents and I ventured to the north coast of Ireland for a day at the Giant's Causeway. My parents arrived Tuesday evening for what is their first visit to the island country. So far we have had a wonderful time. Our trip today was all that I hoped they would experience. We left from the international youth hostel this morning and made our way north

A Day With Giants

I have now been in Northern Ireland for longer than a month and failed to see what is perhaps Northern Ireland's greatest tourist attraction the Giants Causeway. Yesterday the time had come to remedy that. I booked a ticket on a bus tour that ventured on the coastal highway along the Irish Sea and North Atlantic Ocean. We left Belfast about half past 900 a.m. and began meandering our way nor

There are two things that Ireland does not have one single faucet that mixes the hot and cold water what's with one tap for hot water and one tap for cold I keep burning my left hand and freezing my right. Half my face is always scaldedThe other thing it doesn't have is an abundance of internet cafes. That's why I have not been able to post any pictures. Maybe by the time I'm finished thi

Meeting the beautiful sights of Northern Ireland

Heading up the Antrim coast we stopped at an aweinspiring site of a ruined roofless castle clinging on a cliff It reminded me of Dunnottar Castle in Scotland with the dramatic setting. It was only a photo stop for a few minutes but I knew that I would be back someday to explore it. Dunluce The first castle built here was by Richard de Burgh in the 1200's. In 1513 it was owned by the McQuillan

Well thatrsquos how it started anyway. We quickly realised that our car was a bit sluggish and KB and Ryrsquos had no worries keeping up.
