So today we went to Utrecht and looked around. I tried straightening my hair this morning and burned a chunk off right in the front. I don't think my voltage converter is working. Also bought a card reader in Utrecht but of course it does not work. Argh Anywho Urtrecht was cool. It was semireminiscent of Amsterdam...lot of canals and cafes and little shops. Very busy. I'm not seeing any clear

Hi everybody Sarah here. We flew into Amsterdam yesterday at about 630 am which is crazy to think about because we left the US at about that time the day before. Our first flight to Minneapolis was uneventful. The second and longest flight to Amsterdam was slightly more troublesome. We sat right behind a family with two young children...I bet you can guess where this is going. Yes they screame

The Vierdaagse festival is a week and a bit long street party in Nijmegen in celebration of the 4 day walking event held at the same time. All throughout town there are about 2025 stages set up where they play all sorts of music from midday till midnight. After 12 everyone heads to the bars and the party generally kicks on till at least 5am. Reece and I were there from the Saturday night first

The third week we were in Nijmegen we stayed at the Hessenburg site. Huge craters where parking garages would go an excavator threateningly close to our hardhat clad heads deadlines many graves oil lamps and coins. The ground was sandy which at least made for easy digging. We were all ready to get out of the dirt once and for all during our last week and I think on Monday we were at Kikir

We spent all of yesterday out in the heat it was in the 80s and humid measuring heights of ground once again. The good thing about that is now we know what we're doing in the measuring department. Zutphen received city rights between 1190 and 1196 making it one of the oldest cities in the Netherlands. Only Utrecht Groningen and Deventer preceded Zutphen in receiving city rights but in contra
