The 2nd morning we rose early in the morning and decided to have a toast in a nearby restaurant in the Palolem market. We ate at this place thrice but unfortunately I do not remember the name of the restaurant. It is right in the Palolem market with nice music playing. THe waiter was nice and smiled all the time. This 2nd day after having a sumptuous breakfast it was the time to FEEL the Palolem

It was just an awesome experience. After meeting this person I thought I've met a Friend whom I've talked to many times before as well. We reached at around 5 oclock and were welcomed by the staff at the Om Sai guest house. We were quite amazed with the speed with which they installed all the required items in our room. The whole beach is fridged by palm trees and the sea is still and blue. This is definatly part of the back packers trail westerners everywhere wearing aladdin pantschaveller styleAfter a day of sunbaking we got ready to experience our first night out.It

We took the GoAir flight to Dabolim near Vasco the only airport in Goa. The flight took about an hour before it reached the destination. I had already had a talk with Gaurav the owner of Om Sai Palolem Guest house . Gaurav ensured us that we will get the best and the cheapest ply to Palolem and so it turned out. We were received by a driver who brought an Innova lush and spacious. Tblack colo

In Goa Palolem was a great way to relax and reenergize. In planning our trip we had originally planned on going to North Goa. However upon reading about this less populated more natural beach I wanted the time to be here. Palolem is almost the most southern beach in Goa. Two things were the highlights here the yoga and the food.I spent long periods of time in yoga practice working on s

A bit of Mumbai madness had us craving some beachy RR and hippylaced Goa seemed a reasonable cure for our sandy itch. Since Rozy was still scarred from our sleeper class adventures in northern India and Nicole was a bit apprehensive about Indian trains in general we splurged for a trio of 2AC class tickets these are the good ones.
After 2 weeks up north in Rishikesh and a one night stopover in Delhi I fly to Goa. I was ready to explore the beaches of India. The moment I stepped off the plane I could breathe clean air again and see palm trees everywhere. Was I transplanted in Costa Rica India's various terrain is pretty amazing. After feeling out of place up North I instantly felt at home in Goa. It reminded me of m

36.5 Hours By Train To Goa

After visiting the Taj Mahal we got caught up in yet another scam and ended up boarding the Goa Express Mail Train from Agra to Goa. We had paid for the fast train which was estimated at 22 hours but it took us a staggering 36.5 hours. Although we had a decent bunk I was climbing the walls by the time we reached Goa. We were exhausted so I crashed out and slept most of the first day in Goa.

So Palolem is a truley relaxing place and having sent a email to a good friend James he wished he could drop work and come out and chill for a few weeks.James incidentally had been in Palolem a few weeks before our arrival and mentioned a tightrope walking kid Yes a tightrope walking kid. Now i'm not normally sceptic but in this case had no choice. How many of these do you see on a daily basis

Another delayed post...

And this time for no good reason. It took me a couple days of traveling to get back down to Palolem Goa and internet wasn't really an option until I got down here. Then it sunk in again relaxation. Plus I was kind of scared about sitting down and trying to recap so much time that hadn't been covered yet. So much happens every day that I can't do justice to it all but I really want to. So

People lying on the floors sleeping. Families having dinner together as they waited patiently for the trains to arrive. Our train was at 1130pm and we had booked 2AC which means a bed for the night. Sweet sweet sleep. I mentioned to Katie that the last

We landed at around 3.304pm and walked out onto the tarmac and instantly felt sticky Possibly one of the most humid places I've been. The airport was tiny and fast and we were out into the madness of taxi drivers within 20 minutes.
