We were kind of excited about it because it was one of the last parts of Portugal that we'd really wanted to see and hadn't yet. The Serra da Estrela is known for producing serra cheese some of the best and most expensive in Portugal. http://www.travelblog.org//Europe/Portugal/Central/Serra-da-Estrela/blog-164539.html This is a perfect place to stay in if you want to get a good rest yet be right in the middel of all the action. There are rooms with private baths or rooms without where the W.C. is just outside the corridor. All rooms have great big windows some have a varanda all have T.V local only and all have heating.
