Well it is december now we have been at the bucksport marina in south carolina for almost a week waiting for motor parts after she bit the bullet. Things weren't good as the part is no longer available but we found a used one. it's just 40 miles away but we are on top of it. this is a short entry as the cpu is about to die. Anxious to get moving again as the rain finally stopped 4 days later. St

Tides and currents have become of daily interest. In Albermarle Sound there is no tide and the only current is wind driven. Here in Beaufort the tidal range is 8 10 feet and the current can run at 4 knots. we entered one river doing 2mph and left it doing 9We have made good progress in the past 2 weeks and have racked up a few needed gold stardays spent no money.

Probably the best part of the adventure so far has been meeting really good cruising people. There is a real sense of support and encouragement from others doing the same as us many for the first time too Hearing the name of a familiar boat name on the radio is a real jolt of joy that we remember from sailing with Rick Donna to the Bahamas 3 years ago.Jim and Christine a Brit couple on a M

I gave up working at the portrait studio and I am now trying my hand at teaching history. The day to day tasks of getting students to sit still in class and study can be tedious so i was very happy to be going on a field trip where they could learn in an active enviroment. I was so excited to be going to St. Augustine Florida on a field trip. What could be better for a history teacher who also l

Somebody shoot me Another slow and torturous day through residential areas I canrsquot forget to mention the clammers and the fisherman in the skiffs. You have to slow down for each and every one of them. Some of them even fish in the channel. Itrsquos gloomy outside and chilly due to the front but at least we are moving I guess. Other than the fine weather and nice beaches the rest of the town was quiet frankly one of the worst tacky tourist towns ever. It was an unusually laid out and run hostel with check in for only a couple of hours in the evening and only 2 showers and toilets to service everyone but it served the purpose of accomodation. The next day we walked into the downtown area from our hoste
