After the Sunday service at Baptist Church we had lunch with the friends from the Church. And we headed towards the University of Notre Dame. We strolled to the lake then the cathedral then admin office buildings. We spotted a big squirrel in a bush. My brother used to visit the university for its quiteness and solitude.

The fact that I won't be with a bunch of other americans is a little scary too. It'll just be Ashley Alysha and me plus many thousands of French studentsI've begun lists of places to visit on weekends and breaks t

Day 4... I know this is almost a week late but I haven't had a whole lot of internet access. I made it to Indiana Saturday Septemeber 27th around 11pm. I didn't want to end up paying for one last night at a motel so I wanted to make sure I got there Saturday. I started at 730 in the morning. I got up and went to have the Travelodge 'Continental Breakfast' which consisted of bagels and frozen

I hardly had any chance to run in solitude and never had a chance to run through country roads. It was amazingly refreshing. All I could see was different shades of green. All I could smell was the freshest air mixed with the earthy fragrance from soil and grass. All I could hear was the music orchestrated by birds insects my breathing and my feet pounding the trail. One is a lonely number but I f

Today we went to Indiana Dunes National Seashore on Lake Michigan. The water was very clear and cold. The sand was nice and there were lots of rocks instead of shells. We could see the Sears Tower on the other side of the lake. We then drove to Van Buren State park in Michigan and went to the lakeshore there. We found lots of cool rocks and it was really fun. We stayed there for the night.

Running and traveling are my passions. Naturally one of my dreams is to run races in different places. Running with a camera in my RaceReady shorts is no longer a daunting task. After all you can't never anticipate what you will see on a race course. Indianapolis is well know for its Speedway. In the running community it is also well known for the annual sellout event the One America 500

I'm actually surprised that the kids didn't mention Jill in their journals. Jill is a persistent voice who definitely tells you where to go. In our case she says she's recalculating quite a bit. The kids call it her seizures. Mark was saying last night that he can't figure out how we ever managed to travel without Jill in the past although we still had to get the map out once. Rhonda

We drove over 475 miles today from the middle of Michigan through Indiana to just south of Louisville KY. We stopped for gas twice and stopped several times to stretch our legs and unstretch our bladders. It's been a long day for us since we usually don't go more than 200 miles and I took no pictures. So I thought I'd just share some wildflower photos that I didn't previously post but

Carrie started off driving and she was able to back out of the driveway with a little help and we were on our way. Jason spent the first 30 minutes or so locating all the squeaks rattles and knocks before settling down to hookup the computer mapping software and the GPS. Didn
