Before we left someone told me that the trip is as much about the people we meet as the places we see so as we awoke this morning to the sound of norwegian chatter I spared a thought for the poor Amercian kid who didnt get so much as a goodnight kiss last night from the leggy blonde he had spent the previous 4 hours chugging beer to impress. Although given that his opening line was 'so Norway

Hi allLast couple of days have been pretty hectic. We spent Sunday morning at Ipanma market which was really cultural. The market was held in a park fairly close to the beach. The outside of the park was devoted to 200 to 300 stalls selling lots of bits and bobs. The centre of the park wasdevoted to artwork. All of the artwork was so expressive whether it was landscape artwork or modern. I part

At that point the population could not have been more than 500 a number that was mostly made up

Finally made it to Buzios after going backwards and forwards to the bus terminal to book tickets. Checked into the Buzios Adventure Hostel which was far from adventurous In fact when we left Boucs went to get our bags and the woman opened the door with the lock and chain still on and handed our bags through the gaps. She also wouldnt let Boucs use the toilet and slamed the door in his faceB

Buzios is a trendy little costal town just north of rio kind of reminded me of a theme park without the rides just the shops. Some places worth mentioning are Chez Crepe probably the best most extensive selection of crepes i have ever seen captains bar and the bar across the road from captains bar where you can listen to 5 units of live music and watch the waves trying to macro elusive geckos.

This bus stopped at the airport and waited for several late as usual international flights. Not what we planned on as we should have had a day at the beach and not in a bus. We should have been there for lunch and made it in time for dinner.Buzios is a very busy bea

Looking around the place seems like it could be a real paradise. There are several large beaches nice archetecture. The problem is the rain.
We rented a car an drove 2 hours east of Rio to a peninsula called Buzios which has dozens of beautiful beaches and crystal clear water. Most of the drive was through favelas squatters housing that has taken over much of Rio and the surrounding areas so interesting but not so scenic. Drivers are crazy in Rio so it was a bit stressful for Garth. Once we got to Buzios we were pleasantly surpri
