Heidelberg

It was a bit of culture shock when I arrived at Heidelberg. BadenBaden was elegant and clean. Heidelberg was chaotic not so elegant and not so clean. Nevertheless it definitely has its charm and beauty that attract so many visitors yearly. Heidelberg Schloss landmark of Heidelberg sits on a hill overlooking the Neckar river. I was fascinated by this majestic ruin and its eventful history

Today we finally arrived in Heidelberg to a nice camping spot near the Rhine. We drove down the Rhine from our previous camping ground and stopped at a town called Rodesheim. Along the way we saw some really nice scenery and heaps of castles it seems there was a castle for every village. We stopped at Rodesheim as it looked like a nice town. We went to a castle there which had been converted int

My final days in this beautiful country are filled with packing and errands cleaning and shipping and selling vehicles taking the cat to the vet packing some more cleaning the house and cleaning it again... nothing spectacularly interesting except that I can't help stealing a few moments here and there to revisit some favorite places and take some photographs to ensure my memories stay clear.

We had an excellent day from start to finish in Heidelberg starting with a funicular train ride up the hill to Heidelberg castle and a stroll along the grounds. The castle is crumbling a little but it was still a sight and the view from the courtyard was nice Heidelberg is so quaint and peaceful.
After weeks of solo travel I finally have my travel companion as my sister arrived this morning. Her flight was delayed two hours for weather so I had a nice morning sitting in the airport reading and anxiously waiting to see not only a familiar face but a deeply loved family member I don't get to see nearly enough of. Now I am sitting in the bar area of the small hostel in Heidelberg after t

Friday I'm off to see my other half together in Munich two years ago we survived the chaos and stupid girl politics by combining our forces and coming out on top. The trip to Heidelberg was wonderfully uneventful. Managed to make both trains and their connections. People watching in Vienna before departure was fabulous I lost count of the number of people wandering around the station with

Today we went to Heidelberg which is the most popular place in all of Germany for American tourists. After stopping by the Jesuit church we went to the castle. You'll see my picture in front of the largest wine barrel in the world. After seeing sheep on the way down from the castle we stopped by a wellknown beer garden before going to Schwetzingen to see the gorgeous gardens there.Supper to
