We left Mission beach after 5 days and headed south to the large town of Townsville. We had hoped to find work there however there was very little on offer and not much going on in the town. Whilst in Townsville we began calling around and eventually managed to find some farm work 40 minutes south. As they only needed 2 people to begin with me and Kirsty decided to go for it and the others would

Hello all. Since last time I wrote I haven't done too much worth writing about except the Rugby League World Cup has started. Luckily the first game of the Cup was being played at Townsville's Dairy Farmers Stadium. It was PNG vs. England and although the stadium wasn't even close to being full it was a good chance for me to learn the game. England ended up winning which most of the Aussies di

Lets put it this way I now know the internet caf and the pub across the road like the back of my handhellip if you can call that exploring then Irsquom the Christopher Columbus of Townsville. Ended up with some older people at the pub drinking beer and talking sport. A subject I know next to nothing about. There

The debate may never end as to the best way to see the East Coast buy a car rent a car rent a campervan hitch or get the bus. There is no doubt that you own wheels give total flexibility but the reliability or lack of it with some of the wrecks on offer in Cairns doesnrsquot make it a lot of financial sense or fun. Irsquove got the whole cabin to myself which really suits me for the moment but may get a bit lonely later. The outer suburbs of Brisbane are sliding by lazily and yet way too fast simultaneously.
Hello all. Hope everyone had a good weekend. I had an awesome weekend. Friday was a little low key we stayed home and had nachos and beer and watched the footy on tv. The reason for our quiet friday was because saturday was packed full of things to do. JP went to work till 11 and then we went to the Billabong Sanctuary just 17km outside Townsville. It was fantastic. We made it just in time

So far Australia has been very kind to me. We've been having fantastic weather since coming to Townsville. It has been about 29 everyday and the humidity is still not bad since it's not quite summer yet. I've taken full advantage of this by sitting out on the balcony with my book most days taking the dog for walks and of course going down to the beach for a swim.
After 36 hours of flights and airports I was relieved to finally be in Australia. I flew into Cairns which happened to be a bit rainy and met up with JP who informed me that we already had plans to meet up with some friends for lunch. So I didn't change or shower just hopped in the car and was off exploring Cairns. We walked the streets in between rain showers and checked out the restaurants
