Arrival

So I finally have some time with a computer and some beer to help me work on this blog correctly. I arrived in Cancun on time at around noon as sheduled and it finally set in that I had not prepared at all to speak spanish. I was forced to chill for a few hours til my buddy Lee came in at 6pm so some Sudokus and a few beers passed the time well. Once Lee arrived we decided to take a bus to Pl

Arrived in Cancun on 5th september...my God it was absolutely scorching Headed straight to Playa del Carmen as we didn't fancy staying in Cancun. Our hotel was called 'Playa del Karma' and it was absolutely gorgeous. It had a small pool and thatched roof cabanas plus we had breakfast included which was prepared by the talented Italian chef Bepe so we fairly landed with this one all for about

Mexico Yucatan

My journey from Belize to Mexico turned out to be pretty awful. The bus decided to show up at 11.30am an hour late and despite having paid a first class price it turned out to be a cramped little minibus with no airconditioning so not very pleasant with the sun beating down on us. Still it only took four and a half hours to get to Chetumal in Mexico and I chatted with a guy from Birmingham

We know its been a while since the last entry we've been getting lazy We got to Tulum late on 9th and went straight to bed. The next day we went and saw some more Mayan ruins this time they overlooked the Caribbean ocean and were very impressive. We spent the afternoon on the perfect white sandy beach and in the crystal clear turquoise water. We then had a night out in Tulum which was a quiet

Belize was lovely. Sunny and blue and warm and sandy. But we were running out of time so we headed off back to Mexico. The bus ride from Belize City to Chetumal went without incident. That is apart from when we had to get out at Mexican Immigration no stamp this time and were handed our bags from the roof to carry through ourselves. Being a little bit stupid we presumed this meant we'd arrived a

Moren og terrorist babyen havde nemlig vaeret paa 14 timers bustur for at fo

So our journey has begun officially and our first stop before the complete culture shock of Asia was Playa Del Carmen Mexico. We were lucky enough to be invited to Krista's good friend Vanessa's wedding and it was an awesome time. Our overnight flight from LAX to Cancun with a quick stopover in Mexico City wasn't too bad minus the fact that our flight left at 1 am and wasn't really long enough

Ok a little status update. I've been in Playa del Carmen for about 67 weeks now although it feels a lot shorter. It took me almost two weeks to find a job and at the end I had almost given up on Mexico. But eventually I got lucky and walked into a dive shop the day after one of their instructors had quit. So I got a job freelancing in this relatively small dive shop Diversity Diving owned by

That event took 13 of us to Playa del Carmen south of Cancun for 3 night. After countless hours of research trying to find a date that worked for all we settled on January 31 through Feb. 3rd. The trip included my parents of course Lisa and her fiance Nate Jeff and his wife Amber m

That instinct paired with my oral hygiene OCD led to having two toothbrushes but somehow not remembering one of my many contact cases or bottles of saline.
