After a few hours of dark clouds the sun came out and we went to explore the other beaches. Tayrona is spectacular because the beaches are not artificial or dirty. You have to do many hikes through the jungle and under big rocks before you arrive at white sands clear

You had to balance yourself across pipes over sewage with insects below.. All this while being attacked by mosquitos. We had heard about a local Panaderia bakery which was supposed to be delicious. We arrived just as he was t

When we got out of the Lost City we went directly to Taganga with our friends Anna and Tim from our trek. Taganga is only a 5 minute taxi ride from Santa Marta where our Lost City trek embarked from and concluded but it has an entirely different personality. Rounding one bend along the coast line from Santa Marta and the dirty crowded city feel is replaced by the laid back sleepy fish

Hi all Life on the coast of Colombia is quite the paradise. Arriving to this paradise is a whole other story. Our journey to the north coast began on Wednesday afternoon September 17th at 330 pm. The bus was quite comfy large reclining chairs and TVs. These conditions are ideal for bus rides up to 12 hours. Try and double that with a dose of drunken vomiting teenagers 2 mechanical breakdow

Santa MartaWe reached Santa Marta after a very early departure 4AM from Maracaibo Venezuela. The trip was uneventful except for police blockades many passport checks and a maniac driver in our Por Puesto Shared taxi basically an old Chevy or Ford with a 5 litre engine. We booked into a very nice hostel called Hotel Nueve Granada. This is probably one of the nicest places we have stayed u

The first couple of people we asked wanted a lot of money 50000 and 40000 each but then we met John hanging out on the beach and he does it for 35000 pesos per person as he's a friendly chatty guy that easily puts groups together about 14 went out on our bo
