Famed for its Ati Atihan festival the town was very quiet. Went to visit the Mangrove Sanctuary just outside of the town which was nice but unbelievably hot http://www.travelblog.org/Asia/Philippines/Panay/Kalibo/blog-390417.html Stayed another night in Kalibo to get the cheapest flight to Manila. It's not the most exciting place in the world but it has an interesting Cathedral and some decent eateries. My son and I decided spontaneously to pack our bags and boxes and take the much needed vacation we have denied ourselves for many years. One reason was that we haven't completed our 5 year's stay in the United States for us to be granted citizenship. This year we filed for citizenship and went through all the process.
