We have so much to tell you but unfortunately it will have to wait because I am typing from the front desk of our Austria stay. That is the only Internet available here right now. The first night the hotel did not have Internet and we got back to the hotel to late to walk to the Internet cafe. The next night we camped in a Medieval village and of course....no Internet. Tonight the hotel does

We are off to Budapest tomorrow morning sailing down the Danube from Vienna. I almost hate to leave Vienna it's been rainy but other than that we've so enjoyed our time here After a lovely rest in Padua and a few days in Venice we left Italy and spend the night in Salzburg. We managed to fit in a few Sound of Music highlights and some Mozart sites before taking the train to Mauthausen a

We came to Zell am See on a whim and found mountain paradise. Having never heard of this lakeside Austrian town the initial magical trainride deep into mountains blooming with Christmas trees hidden castles crumbling stone bridges over aweinspiring gorges was an adventure in itself.A personal pickup at the station by our friendly Irish BB hosts began 3 days of luxury. It wasnrsquot long before we hit the huge hops fields feeding the hundreds of German breweries. It was lovely to see this part of the world in the summer with its crops rather than the usual snow covered ground we do every ski season.Despite being over zealous parents and playing Mozart on th

I realized it this morning and panicked for awhile before calling the hostel. The guy at the hostel said they hadnt been turned in but he would look in the room we stayed in and let me know in awhile. When I called back he said he had good news he found t

The last time we talked Robert and I were getting on a train to Salzburg Mozart country. I have to say that as much as I have disliked the night trains I have loved the day trains. You get to see a huge amount of the countryside and they serve wine to boot. Once we arrived in Salzburg at about 8 at night. we tried to find the hotel but no one seemed to know where it was even though it is on

When I woke in the morning and went to look out at the view from my balcony I found myself standing in the middle of a snow squall. As I stood out there gazing up at the Alps towering above us a local train flashed past less than 100 yards from the hotel. If any trains went by last night I never heard them. Cassie had had enough of my snoring and slept in Grandmarsquos and Gailrsquos room.
