Cairns and the Atherton Tablelands

The Atherton Tablelands is considered THE agricultural center when it comes to Cairns. Gourmet traveling farming and dairies are all culminated in this one place. The Tablelands has started out as a forest but with the discovery of tin and gold in the area settlers pushed through and slowly developed the area. From farms it went to dairies from forests it became communities. This happened a

Good day mateI just got back from my trip to Kuranda. It was a great day We went up the hill with the train and got some lovely views of the surroundings. There was a Korean girl in the train and she started talking to me. After that she asked me if she could come along with me into Kuranda Village and I said sure. This city up above Down Under also knows how to combine exotic eating with fine dining. Independent food trips is fast becoming one of the hottest trends in food trips no more of those stuffed restaurant and foodnookandcrannyhouses you get brought into.
Cairns is slowly taking the title from the other locale's to become the top gateway to the mysterious and worldrenowned Great Barrier Reef. In Cairns one can virtually indulge in all aspects of the great reef. Take a boat and go drifting through the great expanses of coral dive and snorkel through the blue waters of the reef and meet curious and notso curious looking fishes and other marine in

The East coast of Australia is probably best known for the Great Barrier Reef and it didnrsquot let us down. We managed to get Beccy booked on to the same Open Water Dive Course I did seven years ago which meant I was home alone for a couple of days whilst she was stuck in a classroom studying. Naturally I did the man thing nothing much although I did go fishing and caught a tiddler. The t

The school holidays came to an end and there was no longer such high demand for housekeeping staff so that was that. Thankfully I had kept up my Baskin Robbins duties and the week

I went to the Great Barrier Reef today It was very cool. I went snorkeling and got to see tons of coral and fishies. They were some cool colors too bright green orange brown blue etc. The coral was all kinds of weird shapes and so shallow my fins would hit it as I swam over it. The water was really rough so it took a lot of energy to swim around though. It's also fairly far away from the m

I don't want to rub anybody's face in it but the coldest it's been here for the last 2 weeks has been 28 and let me you tell you that's kinda chilly when every other day is over 30.Cairns is a nice little city that should be on everybodies itinerary when they visit Australia. There was a field of pink ladies which you could sponsor in memory hope or inspiration. I sponsored one and wrote a message of inspiration for my Grandma who has bravely gone through breast cancer twice.
Hello from far awayI hope you are all well. As you have probably seen on the news Australia has been hit by a dust storm that covered New South Wales in a blanket of Red dust yesterday whilst up in Cairns we had clear blue skies. But when we woke up this morning it looked more like the dusk. The smog had lost its red colour but visibility was poor and the dust left me with a tickle in my throat
