Our first stop on our 14 day repositioning cruise in the Caribbean was Nassau Bahamas. Unfortunately Steph Nicole and I had to finish our Basic Safety course as it was too cold in the waters of Canada to complete the last element of the course jumping off the ship flipping a liferaft and climbing into it. This is what we did in Nassau. Luckily because we went first we got the chance to

In August of 2008 we spent one week in Nassau. The hotel that we stayed at was the Wyndham Crystal Palace Hotel and Casino which is right next door to the Sheraton in the Cable Beach area of Nassau. The resort was just fine except for the very small and shallow water beach. The swimming pool was large and came equipped with an attended waterslide. There is a large casino on property with a

I will preface this entry in saying that this was one of my favorite vacations ever. It's possible I very likely learned the art of cruising and relaxing on this trip or maybe I just needed a vacation THAT badly. Either way it was my first bit of time off during a year that has brought many changes including the purchase of my first home and the beginnings of my master degree.Intinerary on C

As some of you may know I went to the Bahamas for about a week. It was not a vacation though. I was working. We took a research boat the Coral Reef II to the Bahamas to search for something called submarine hardgrounds. These are cemented areas of sediment that are important to facilitate coral and Stromatolite growth. Most of my pictures are on facebook athttpwww.facebook.comalbum.php

Harbour Island is my favorite excursion in Bahamas. It is an out island just one mile off the northern coast of Eleuthera. It is about 2.5 hours ferry ride from Nassau. The island is so small 3 mile long 1 mile wide that the best way to explore its charming landscape is by golfcart Harbour island is famous for the Pink Sand Beach. Why is it pink This is what I found after consulting googl
