On Monday we will head toward Mankato for a desination that is near and dear to Grace's heart. She will write about it more later. Our sweet nextd

I'm fortunate enough to have friends who own a pontoon so spent the weekend on the Missouri River. The River is home to plenty of sand bars and a very scary current at times. It is not to be messed with. However it is gorgeous as well and very cooling on warm days. It's also great for my tan Here are a few pictures...I also threw in a State Capitol photo.

I put a lot of thought into that route and here is what I have come up with. You will notice that the miles between stops is not that far. This will allow me to spend time at selected cities and enjoy the scenery and people. I will be camping th

Went out to see my city and take some photos.Headed down to my favorite area...down by the Missouri River. The photos are all shot in color.
Frosty Day in Bismarck North Dakota

We're having one of those rare days of winter today. When you wake up and the trees are thick and heavy with frost. So beautiful. There's a heavy fog as well despite it not being that cold in North Dakota terms at degrees in the mid 20s. I was hoping for a little sun to poke through to make for some gorgoeous photos but the forecast states it's unlikely so heavy fog for the day is what I get

Obfuscator writes We left Lake Sakakawea State Park promptly in the morning except for once again spending some time trying to dry our stuff out. That had to be cut a bit short though as we were running in front of what we thought was a storm front. We drove into the nearest town which was very small and called Pick City. There we found the ldquoBest dam bar by a dam siterdquo which w

I hadn't toured the Center for many years. The Museum is very full of items relating to North Dakota's history. So full in fact that they are trying to get the funds to expand because they have so much in storage that they are unable to display. Th

Had the chance today to drive up to the Mandan Indian Village site and catch the great view of the Missouri River from high above on one of the hills of the Missouri River Valley from the Bismarck ND side. The Missouri River is pretty low nowadays so the sand bars are pretty evident. Still a very pretty view looking toward Mandan ND and down the River. Also has an easy walk to the remnants of

Was one of the those beautiful frosty mornings where the frost hung on the bare trees making them look so incredibly beautiful. The sky was a pretty blue. The Legislative Session was in full swing so lots of people around. Went and took a few pictures of the grounds.Bismarck is a very pretty little city built in the rolling hills of the Missouri River
