Faro

The main town in the Algarve is Faro. We spent a day walking round the old town and came back another day for a boat ride on the lagoon. The lagoon has a lot of migratory birds in the autumn and spring even flamingoes.

I spent 11 days in Portugal visiting my brother and took a lot of nice photos. Portugal was a big surprise for me I was there 30 years ago and I don't remember it very well. I remember Lisbon as a dark depressing sort of place and now it's a beautiful colorful place they had an earthquake in 1755 that destroyed the city but then they rebuilt so I don't think that there could have been many

April 11 2008After getting ready this morning Julie and I met Katie at the bridge and walked to where we would get on the bus to Portugal. For once in my life I stayed awake on the bus because I was too busy reading my book ldquoPlaying for Pizzardquo by John Grisham. A couple hours after we left we arrived at the boat to take us to Ihla de Tavira the island we would spend 5 hours at. We h

I'm Taviring through Portugal.

These pictures speak for themselves. We were traveling the the coubtryside and came upon a small town. While passing through there was a pig slaughter going on in the middle of the main road. My favorite part is the look on the young boy's face it is an smile of evil enjoyment. The rest is the incredible countryside. Breath taking

Rainy Portugal

Lagos as I discovered Sunday is a dreadful touristtrap. The restaurants are chocked with elderly Brits and Germans and the shops are filled with touristy kitsch. Its the kind of place I was actually embaressed to be walking around in. The beaches were nice but the weather was overcast the whole time. At night it was a different story. I went out well after midnight on Saturday and Sunday with
