We spent a day walking round the old town and came back another day for a boat ride on the lagoon. Portugal was a big surprise for me I was there 30 years ago and I don't remember it very well. For once in my life I stayed awake on the bus because I was too busy reading my book ldquoPlaying for Pizzardquo by John Grisham. A couple hours after we left we arrived at the boat to take us to Ihla de Tavira the island we would spend 5 hours at. While passing through there was a pig slaughter going on in the middle of the main road. My favorite part is the look on the young boy's face it is an smile of evil enjoyment. The restaurants are chocked with elderly Brits and Germans and the shops are filled with touristy kitsch. Its the kind of place I was actually embaressed to be walking around in. The beaches were nice but the weather was overcast the whole time. At night it was a different story.
