Penguin Night

Tuesday 916 brought another windy morning with sporadic cold rain. We took a 40minute vehicle ferry ride from Queenscliff to Sorrento in order to avoid having to drive through Melbourne. We then headed to our destination of the day which was the town of Cowes on Phillip Island. The highlight was a visit to the Phillip Island Nature Park to see their nightly penguin parade.
Yesterday Saturday Nichole my friend Matt and myself went on a day trip to Phillip Island. I don't have any pictures of Phillip Island itself because we weren't allowed to take them but I have pictures of all the other stuff we did. We got into the city grabbed a quick breakfast and loaded onto the bus at around 11. Our first stop was a wildlife park called Maru which was still on the mainlan

This place is really cool I hired a car for a couple of days and took a drive down. There's a penguin sanctuary here where you can go down when it's getting dark and watch all the Little Penguins come in from the sea after a days fishing. It's really funny watching these little one foot high birds waddle back up the beach to there burrows all full up. Unfortunately they won't let you take picture

We arrived on Phillip Island late on Thursday evening were welcomed by signs saying there are 'on the spot' fines of 100 for camping or parking a camper overnight. This meant we had to book into a campsite just before crossing the bridge into Phillip Island. Costing 30 for an unpowered site we had no option but to pay the money. Next morning we were up early to watch pelicans being fed. T

We were to leave Philip Island today and head towards Melbourne but after receiving Jacqueline's school works we knew that we had to spend a day doing work with the kids before we go to Tasmania. We are already a few weeks behind the program and the first few weeks are going to slow for us all as we understand what we all need to do.
Guy did some school work with the kids in the morning and then we went to San Remo to watch the pelican feeding. We asked the locals where the best fish and chip shop was and we sat in the park to enjoy our lunch. We then headed to an entertainment centre called 'Amazing things' and walked through a maze and explored the many illusions the tourist attraction had to offer.
Our big outing today after catching up with the washing and clean up jobs was to visit Cowes to pick up Jacqueline's box from BSDE. She was very excited about what her school work will be. With the Bell family we went to Philip Island Winery to enjoy a wine tasting. We took home a lovely sample of some of the wines we had enjoyed together. We headed back to the caravan park to have a quick dinner

We packed up and then did a 2.5km walk along the Lily Pily Boardwalk into the rainforest which was just beautful. We then followed the coast around to Philip Island and we stopped at Inverloch for a short time before the cold wind encouraged us back to the car. We were greeted at the caravan park by our lovely friends who we

However I was excited about going to Geelong on Friday. This week started up swimming again at the school. Half of the school swims one week and then they switch the next week. We couldnrsquot have swimming on Monday or Tuesday because there was to much duck poo in the pool.
