Hello from LaPenita The Mexican dinner party was great. Our street aptly named the Street of Dreams. When we were here in 2006 we travelled down here with Bob and Marie. A lot of us were put on this street but Bob and Marie were located down on the main street. She thought it was dark and damp down where she was but they didn't seem to be able to move up here so Marie would come to visit

Hi Everyone Here we are in LaPenita. It is very hot and humid. The humidity should subside in a few weeks they say and I remember it from last time. we had a good trip down here. We left home Oct 13th drove the first day to a nice campground on the Columbia River. Very breezy. I guess thats why it is the Windsurfing capital of the world or Washington anyway. We drove down through the Ren

Larry and I are on the road again starting about October 13 2008. Hoping to have a big family Thanksgiving Day dinner and then the next day head out with our final destination of LaPenita Mexico. We will be stopping along the way to meet up with lots of friends we have acquired in our travels. We meet up with 2 other couples in Arizona and will travel as a group down to LaPenita.
So as most of you know I'm in Mexico for about a month helping out a missionary family in Tepic. Emily Cormier who is from Sussex originally but studying sciences in Halifax is also here to help out. Neither of us knew of each other's plans to come but both planned for almost identical dates. She is staying 10 days longer and arrived just a bit before me. So far both of us have been helping the c

Therefore we left PV midmorning following the advice of the bus company which one would assume to be creditable even though it varied from the other advice we had received from other sources. Bus stops rarely exist here put your hand up and a bus will stop for you anywhere which

Our days consist mainly of walking the beach wandering around town for supplies and snacks spending lots of time at our favourite eating places playing afternoon volleyball hanging around the pool and making small trips to all the other little beach towns close by. The other Nayarit beach places besides Lo de Marcos are San Francisco San Pancho Rincon de Guayabitos La Penita Sayulita an

Things are winding down in Mexico. The weather has been hot and sunny everyday for the last 2 weeks. Spectacular What a place. We have been wining and dining around Mexico for 3 weeks now and know that when we get to NZ it ends. It is so cheap to eat here we have become very spoiled. Chicken quesadillos with salsa and guacamole is about 3.50. 10 minute taxi ride is 2.50. Our accomodati

Marvellous Mexico

The adventure has begun. We left home early early on Jan 13th. Clayton is our faithful chauffer but of course he is probably counting days in anticipation of having the whole house to himself Glad to see the tail end of us. We did the 4 hour layover in Dallas which actually was OK. It is an amazing airport. It is American Airlines hub and is huge with AA. There are 5 huge terminals each

We stayed at a BB Casa Obelisco. Big home and only 4 guest suites. Owners are very accomdating and helpful. We just wanted to chill out and relax so there isn't much to report. We were at the beach or the pool every day. Compared to Sayulita which is 3 miles south there are NO VENDORS on the beach. If you want to go to town it's about 34 mile away. We didn't rent a car most guests do.

The first morning I was here I set out with a pedometer on my waist band and was amazed to read I had walked 6000 steps on my morning constitutional . The tide was out and the fishermen were in with their catch so there were many people around . It is the end of the school holiday although there are a lot of people around I understand th

We are counting down the days until we leave by events. The BD was the first of many events until we go. I am going to attempt this travel blog along the way Our itinerary is Jan 13 Feb 4th Rincon de Guayabitos 60 kms north of Puerto Vallarta
