                    <description>My plans changed again on the way to Mackay  I decided to go to Eungella NP with Viv where we could work for accommodation  food. We got a good deal as the work was minimum. For me I was clearing an area that had been flooded so just moved some wood around for a few hours.                     <title>Eungella National Park</title>
                    <description>Mon April 14th Camped at Eugungella nat. park 2 nights at a walk in camp site.  Bit of a longer hike when you have to carry everything in but oh well  We explored the area and did most of the hikes beautiful scenery and views over the low valley below  We staked out the viewing platforms at Broken River to catch a glimpse of a platypus and was rewarded with one platypus the first day however </description>

                    <title>The Furtive Furry</title>
                    <description>Finally A native Australian animal in its native habitat. It was worth the hour  a half wait on the wooden platform overlooking the creek. While the mozzies had their fill we were rewarded with several fairly close views of the cutest little platypus. Following its trail of bubbles we tried to predict where it would pop its strange bill out of the water next. As the bubbles got further away </description>

                    <title>I love frosted flakes... but so do the ants</title>
                    <description>Phew  Lots to catch up on since the last blog.So we went on a sailing trip in the Whitsundays  2 days 1 night trip.  We figured that would be long enough and it was the perfect length of time.  Our sailboat was called the Tall Ship Defender and was built in 1895  111 years old  Which was really cool except for all the creaking and groaning as it bobbed in the sea.                     <title>Platypus Country</title>
                    <description>051206  071206 Pioneer River Valley Eungella national parkThe Broken River Retreat was fully booked for the night so we postponed the platypuses for a night and headed to Stoney Creek Cottage for a farm stay.  After pulling up at the farm one of the owners Steve dropped us at the cottage in his 4WD as it was deep into the woods down a long track.  The beautiful Mackay cedar wood cottage </description>
