Job ahoi and Kenting or Bust

Upon entering my fourth week here I was getting a bit frustrated. Of the 10 places I had handed out my resume to and of the 10 jobs I had applied to online the only prospect was a school far away in Kaohsiung stating that it would not pay me my training until the end of my contract. Thus I was frustrated homesick and tired. It was hard enough to order some vegetables without squid in them

Written Tuesday August 4th 2009These last few days have been the worst days out of my entire trip in Taiwan. Itrsquos just my luck that they should have been the best too after all I am on a trip to Kenting a very pretty beach town with Theresa and all her friends but I think Saturday night has had lasting effects until now. Because I stayed up so late Saturday night I slept a lot Sund

Kenting

When we got there we headed to the hotel that the travel info centre had booked for us. The offseason price of 800 NT dollars got us a really nice place on the main strip close to the beach with new furnishings nice beds and a big room. Since we didn't go to any of the islands we decided to stay in Kenting longer than we planned. The main strip of Kenting was full of tourist gift shops clothing

Taiwan's Beach PlaygroundIf you ask any Taiwanese person where to go for a holiday in Taiwan it is very likely that they will recommend Kenting the National Park that occupies the absolute southern tip of the island. Never mind that most of them are obsessed with it thanks to the Taiwanese Romantic Comedy 'Cape No. 7' being filmed there. But I decided to check it out for myself and see what the

Rolling Ball Games It was wrong right from the beginning. Michael suggested us to buy the ticket from the shopkeeper instead of buying them at the Game Center. Both Gigi and I supposed that it was like other stupid silly rolling ball games ... until we've actually reached there. Totally amazed by the slant they had presented us. Michael and Ada went first for sure while Gigi and I were making p

Michael and Ada had left for Kaohsiong while Gigi and I were wandering around Heng Chun Area for the sake of wandering.Seafood How could we miss it There was a unique seafood market at Heng Chun Da Guang 2282320809 where seafood are sold in extremely low price. People could buy seafood home to cook or make order there. I was told that Sashimi must be ordered and t was proved to be abso

After the morning at the beach we couldn't wait to seek all the sightseeing spots with the map and ride on the motorbike ...Erluanbi 402853801440763 I was attracted by the entirely WHITE tower while doing online research for the trip. I have always believed that the actual view cant be as astonishing as the picture shown by tourism websites. Yet it has not failed me. The 'Spectacle'

It sounded so nice to go surfing but actually Michael and I were floating most of the time. And the waves were playing hide and seek with us. We were chasing after the waves and he kept avoiding us. Therefore to be more precise ... we were floating rather than surfing.Anyway ... we had a nice time there.

My birthday was revealed in the motorbikes' rental store when the man read our birthday aloud while waiting for the rain to stop. From that point our new friends were kind and nice to celebrate it with me.It was funny to figure out that both Michael and Ada were born on the same year as I do.Things have always happened to be like this.We had 2 unexpected guests happened to be with us on the night

We've been too honest to tell the shop keeper that we dont have a driving license for Motorbike at the rental store.Naively thinking that we could jump into a cab on the way to Kenting Main Street we've walked for an hour from Nan Bay under pouring rain .... Gigi and I were soaking wet while Michael and Ada were exhausted at the same time. We spotted another Motorbikes' rental store and I was det

It was quite odd to be in the battle between 2 gangs of Taxi drivers who were in hostile for tourists' ride from Kaohsiung to Kenting. Our first acquaintance with Michael and Ada was in embarrassment with the mentioned situation.Anyway we were on the same taxi an hour later and decided to go sightseeing together afterwards.I came to think of the possibility of meeting people ...1 who were from Ho

I've never thought of going to Taiwan but this place has definitely captured my nerves ...I was caught by the sight in TV while a girl laid on the sofa as if she was a walking corpse ... the obstinacy has ruthlessly taken over her ... anyway she found her happiness in Kenting and was moved by the place.I started to question whether Taiwan has such a heavenly place ...Thus 2 devastating people st

My gloomy eyes were about to close and then a human alarm starts ringing my cousin starts shouting in the car with a delightful voice. After 18 hours of ride we are finally here at this summer palace we dropped our bags and drove to the beach to have some fun. Well arriving at the beach I did not plan to have salty shower due to what that
