But i

The Great Ocean Road was as its name suggests 'Great'. The scenery is beautiful. Jamie saw an animal as he was driving but he didn't know what it w

So we left Melbourne on Sunday morning and headed south towards Geelong and from there on to Torquay and the Great Ocean Road. We were a bit unlucky for this part of the trip as it was pretty much wet and windy the whole way. There were some really pretty parts of the drive but a lot of it was inland I think only about 1015 of it was actually along the coast. We saw the twelve apostles but it w

We took our newtous oldtotherestoftheworld car on a little trip for the bank holiday weekend. The Queen's birthday bank holiday reminded us suitably of bank holidays at home with grey skies and chilly afternoons but still we can't really complain seeing as it is nearly midwinter and camping was really pretty pleasant. We headed off from Richmond early on Saturday morning towards the G

Quite an uneventful drive just getting used to the car and the roads as this was my first time driving in Australia.
Ok so it was my last weekend here really sad. I wanted to enjoy it with some good friends and a bit relaxing. We decided to rent a car and leave Saturday morning to come back Sunday night. To get to the great ocean road it was a 1.5 hour drive and then the beautiful scenery last for hours if you want to go that far. All along the great ocean road there are beautiful rock formations and pull offs

We finished the 2009 grape harvest and were ready to hit the road Before leaving Mildura we decided to take a day trip to Mungo National Park. Remote and isolated the park is home to at least 40000 years of continuous human habitation. Human remains found on site in the 1970s that have been dated at over 40000 years are not only the oldest archelogical findings in Australia but is also th

There Are Easier Ways to See the Sights Prior to November 2008 I had never ridden a bike but one day I walked into a bike store and asked them to point me in the direction of an entry level bicycle. I was determined that 2009 would be the Year of Fitness until a couple of weeks ago turned it into Year of Travel how things change. So I spent the holidays training hard with one event being

It was not a calm night but it was also not the roughest of seas that we have sailed in.
Everyone talked about it and said it was not to be missed so we dug deep and forked out 165 for a 2 day 1 night tour of the Great Ocean Road. The first stop was at Tower Hill a nature park where we were assured we would see emus and koalas and if we were lucky some kangaroos. Well 2 out of 3 ain't bad the elusive kangaroo not wishing to make an appearance for us that day. We then drove on
