We spent the day in Jaipur the capitol of Rajasthan. We've seen some fairly impressive things here. Upon arrival last night we ate at the OM Restaurant a revolving restaurant like the Space Needle but it seemed more exotic because we are in India. It was the nicest restaurant we've eaten at in the last 11 weeks and we almost forgot how to act in such a place. I realized half way through my me

After Udaipur we made the short journey to Pushkar for one night. The city is an important Hindu pilgramage center. It's built around a holy lake that has more than 50 ghats where people come to bathe. We had heard many travelers talk of how wonderful the small town is so we were quite excited to arrive. Turns out we weren't too impressed. The many shops catering to tourists made the town

The city of Udaipur is a city of palaces and peasants owned by a Maharaja. It is really a pleasant respite with stray cows wandering everywhere. The city is much cleaner than Mumbai but it is also far more touristy begging the question is it the 'real' India Nevertheless it was a welcome change to Mumbai.Udaipur's claim to fame is it's part in the James Bond film 'Octopussy.' We stayed a really neat guesthouse called Durag Niwas. The couple who owned it had a boy my age so there was lots of toys and a friend to play with.
