Today is the 24th July and with only 11 days to go before I leave I feel this has come on me so quick. Long time coming with a rollercoaster ride to this date. Being away will be a grounding time one that will change me I think as I feel I am too soft to too many things. I need this to harden me up a little and to focus on what life is all about. Carpe Diem.. a notable quote. One that I will e

This morning I cooked breakfast for everyone and we then went to the beach whilst Eleanor and Mummy looked at the shops I went out for a surf. We then had lunch at a Thai restaurant and visited the Camelia Gardens in the nearby suburb of Caringbah. Mummy is enjoying her stay here especially eating salad stone fruits and fresh vegetables. I cooked a barbeque last night and Mummy made Palabok Ele

On Friday the 16th of November we had a party for Justine at the Montien Tong Thai restaurant in Cronulla. There were 51 guests comprising of Justine's school friends family and family friends. The food was great four entrees followed by four main dishes and rice. Eleanor bought a very nice chocolate mud cake and pavalova though many of us were so full from the main course that we couldn't fit m

Went to Sydney for the weekend and had a look at Cronulla Beach on the way in. Watched a few people surfing and passed the sharks rugby ground. There were blue bottles all over the rock at the beech that must have got stranded there as the tide went out. Next stop Sydney.

I ended up having a great evening in Surfers Paradise as I had anticipated. Jenny B and I met up at the Wednesday night markets... there were many neat things that I would have liked to purchase but most items were either breakable too large or simply put impossible to lug around and bring home in one piece. Jenny and I went out for Sushi my first time having sushi during my trip which seem

Rob met me at the airport and took me to the hostel that I stayed at fo

Out of the city and into suburbia as we move to Miranda. There is not much to it other than one of the biggest shopping centres we have ever seen and a fantastic Indian restaurant. However nearby there are some beautiful bays and beaches including Cronulla which is huge and is one of the best surfing beaches around Sydney More importantly the rent is cheap and it is walking distance to

If anyone has read A walk in the woods by travel author Bill Bryson you will identify... He had never trekked before so headed off to his local camping shop to purchase some items. Starting from scratch he managed to spend over US1000 on various items most of which he didn't use as the story progressed. When it came to pay his credit card was rejected as it was seen as an unusual spending

After the socalled cold snap last week things have definitely hotted up here. By the way I think Sydneysighters define cold snap as less than 20 degrees in summer. Whatever the temperature last week it's 33 degrees today and it's been a long time since my feet felt like the pavement was going to burn them through my shoes. They say the most exciting thing about going on holiday is planning

So Fraser Island was an experience. I left Tom in Noosa and travelled to Hervey Bay where I was introduced to the rest of my group who i would be travelling with for the next few days. We werent shown a video on how to avoid being attacked by a dingo all of which I forgot in my dingo encounter more of which later and how to drive on sand.
