I have slept in countless beds logged on in numerous internet cafes hoisted my backpack over my shoulder at least a hundred times. Irsquom so lucky to have made many great friends from all over the world sampled new foods walked in new directions every day.

We spent two more nights in Ipoh and each day seemed to mirror the last. It's not really a place for tourists so aside from a brief wander around the streets we revisited the cinema each night until we had exhausted their supply of films. Strangely the price changes each time you go but it's still cheap. On the last night i was wandering back to the hotel and got chatting to the guy who work

Kuala Lumpur Boracay November 2008 Because of my debilitating sadness about birthdays and November 2008 seeing me into my 30th year I decided to plan a fabulous trip to ease the transition into another decade. My main goal was to scuba dive and see as much of southeast Asia as possible in one trip. We had 9 flights to 3 countries in 11 days. Here's how it began... Part One The Durian Ex

Thank God for wireless...we're sat at a departure gate waiting to board at KLCC airport onwards to Bangkok. Having left London....spent 13 hours next to a strange smelly man not Dish and finally landed in KL It all works like clockwork here...no queues...no broken trolleys and no mayhem. I think we saw famous people on the flight...A1 GP drivers....well...they seemed famous to meSo......i

The story begins with a phone call to a local Malay named Edmund. He is an old friend of Krista's from her study abroad in Australia. Before he could give us any advice or direction all he said was you are here...we are going to party he didn't give any instructions he just said we are going to meet up eat and drink. Fair enough. So we stumbled around the vast city of KL...a very wester

We were looking forward to this quite a bit because we were planning on meeting up with Krista's friend Eddie who she studied abroad with in Australia. This isn't helped by poor directions to hostels but that aside the real problem with the city itself is the lack of a codefied identity. First impressions bring to mind Spain Turkey and any number of places. There is no real sense of individuality as a city.It is a cocktail of a pl

Well folks the boy's time in Southeast Asia is about to come to an end. After an enjoyable yet extremely expensive couple of nights in Singapore the boys made their way to Kuala Lumpur. So far KL's been a hit offering very much the same experience as Singapore but everything is at least half the price. Not only that but the boys made their way to the Petronas towers look them up this morn
