Work is Done Getting Ready to Leave

Well I guess I can say that the countdown is officially on 6 days until I leave Toronto and go on a month long adventure We wrapped up work on Friday and it was quite sad cleaning out the office and saying our goodbyes. It was quite bittersweet as I loved my job and the people I worked with but there was a sort of relief to realize that the 6 months of transition were over and we could all

Here I am in Mexico Woop Getting to Tula took an epic 24 hours in total with about 11 hours on the plane which was not too much fun and took us a couple of days to recover from. Navigating customs and immigration was a bit of a mission with about 6 pieces of paper our passports and visas each and a queue about a mile long. Obviously most of them were wrong so we got sent back to try again. J

Pachuca

In Mexico Pachuca is known for soccer as it was the gateway through which futbolsoccer entered Mexico introduced in the 19th century by miners from Cornwall England. Pachuga just recently won the South American Cup and the Mexican Title as well. While the Mexican Title is a great one to have in Carlos' family it only counts when the team America wins. Carlos on the other hand was happy that

This was our second stop of our weekend trip Real del Monte de Mineral or Mineral de Monte back in the day and with the nickname El Real. My Lonely Planet book doesn't give this small town enough credit. This is one of the best reasons to travel with locals because they take you to the hidden gems of their country. It is worth a visit. Even the website states the truth Pueblos MagicosMagic

Has anybody ever composed a list of the dumbest themed bars in the world That would surely put Pachuca Hidalgo on the map. Last night we went to Zirco a circus themed bar. I wonder who thought that would be a good idea. But the circus bar that we went to was not the one I knew about there is another fucking circus bar in Pachuca. In a city that has 300000 people there are two circus themed ba

For the time being enjoy this one. Well this all begins on All Saints Day also known as November 1. After school I hopped a bus to a town called Ptzcuaro.
Well this is a good question. Apparently we do. So the story begins with a backdrob of two weeks ago in Mexico City. Josh Antonella Josh's friend and myself went to Mexico DF for the weekend. Friday night near the Zocalo at the spanish cultural center. We are wating in line to get into the club and sure enough we meet some folks. Of course there is at least one gero in the group

Stuff

So I finally got sick for the first time since I've been down here. I think it was an egg torta... the worst part was that I went to a buffet but couldn't eat... That is like the grandest shame in the history of shames that I can imagine. But luckily it was a wellpriced vegetarian buffet... so I didn't miss out on too much.I was sick so I didn't have to come to school. I graded papers and update

Oh man the sound of pipes clanking is amazing. Espically when there is no water in them. Apparently water I mean running water that comes out of your faucet is a luxury that you get even if you have indoor plumbing and the ability to have running water. Having a constant supply of running water is something that I have learned to value. Let's put it this way when you can't use your

A Pachucan Weekend.

I haven't had a weekend in like five years. I of course mean that in the most positive of sense. Nearly everyday for the past five years has been what regular people would consider a weekend. Sure I had class obligations etcetera... but for the most part I could get drunk every night. But for the first time since high school I felt like my monday through friday warranted an actual weekend.

I used the esoteric characters in the heading to prove to you that I am in fact in Mexico. We got here Saturday afternoon. It takes less time to fly to DF from LA than it does to fly to NYC or Dubai for that matter. We got to the airport where we met the director of the school or actually where we were supposed to meet the director of the school. He wasnt there. I like to think its because he

From Oaxaca Mabel who continues to hang in there like the trooper of the little car she is took us on a fairly easy and uneventful journey to the city of Puebla. We did try and visit the nearby ruins of Cacaxtla but enthusiasm for this detour took a hit when w
