Wading the depths of the Amazon basin where piranha tarantulas scorpions anaconda and caymans are no longer merely words and glossy photographs on a page but are instead the fabric from which the jungle is woven. Half the fun of the adventure is in the journey there and back. I left Quito via public transportation around midnight after missing the earlier bus and arrived in Lago Agrio 8 ho

Hello I made it out of the jungle safe and sound completely absent of Anaconda Piraa or Caiman attacks. The jungle tour was a really good time weather treated us well and I got to hang out with a gaggle of Germans. Before I left I was supposed to be picked up at 830 at my hotel. I had been using the clock on the bottom of a local channel to tell time I woke up at 7am about 815 I started lo

It was well worth it though Spent four days and three nights there at the Samoa Lodge which was OK but you need to watch your back a bit as other guests there are always taking your shit.
After wasting five days in the hostel drinking beer with Australians and Brits while I was awaiting a package which I could have quite adequately done at home I realised that it was time to get out of Quito for a short break if only to avoid the watchedparcelneverarrives syndrome from trapping me at the Secret Garden forever The solution was a fiveday excursion to the Amazon jungle.
