Although we once thought of moving to Manhattan for a year we have now completely reconsidered and are very content with that decision. For the time we stayed however it was an adventure. The first day we walked all around the city from West 50th through Greenwich village down to ground zero which is surrounded by construction barrier and scaffolding. While there we discovered a small chur

Brace yourselves .... the Halloween Special has arrived New York is awash with the stench of rotting pumpkin and candy. I'll let the pictures do the talking but suffice to say there's been a loooong leadup to a washed out grand finale. A few points of interest along the way We carved our first pumpkin last weekend. A swarm of fruit flies made it their home within a day. As virgin Halloween

Life in New York is a living fantasy. You literally weave in and out of alternate worlds as movie sets spring up en route. Yesterday after meandering through the heady aroma hot apple cider in Madison Square Park's Fall Festival I was denied access to a street crossing. The hoard of burly blackclad men sporting secretservice headsets should've tipped me off but I was still in pumpkin spiced l

Hi everyone. As I mentioned our shaft repair went very well. The guys at Tarrytown Marina were great. We left there and headed for the 79th St. Boat Basinwhere we picked up a mooring. Our plan is to leave here and make an outside hop all the way to the Chesapeake weather permitting of course. One small glitch we discovered an exhaust fitting was leaking so we are once again living in the e

Am i making sense I am certainly following the tourist trail by day and taking in the sights and sounds as all visitors do. But i am also finding myself doing normal everyday things like dropping of laundry watching truly awful

Day 2.... Hot hot hot

Up early to return the rental car... and head to City Hall to get our marriage licence.Wed been prewarned to arrive early as it can be busy.We hailed a taxi down to the Financial District and found City Hall. We went in and were confronted with a big reception desk and a bloke who asks why you are there. He then pushes a button and gives you a specific ticket then tells you to wait in line.
