You know you are in Nevada when you have to stop at a casino for a coffee Today we rode into Nevada after staying the night in Twin Falls Idaho. The lack of any previous bike trips this summer finally caught up with us yesterday and we ended up going to sleep at an ungodly early hour. We both obviously needed the sleep and feel much better today. The sun finally appeared yesterday afternoon

Not one alien the whole drive So dissapointing Actually there weren't even a bunch of hoaky signs posted all along this road which is famous for being he road on which the most flying saucer a d alien sightings have taken place.
1st to 3rd August 2006The ride across Nevada was in terms of time short but sweet. However this blog entry about it is not. So put the kettle on put your feet up and settle down for more of my musings on all things American. The chosen route across the state was Highway Fifty The Lonliest Road in America. So named because a AAA representative once described it in Life Magazine as Totall

50 The Loneliest Road in America

We headed East from Fallon NV after picking up our passport at the Visitor Information Center. If we get it stamped at each of the mileposts along the route we can send it in and the state will send us a certificate documenting we survived the loneliest road in America. Highlights were 8000 year old petroglyphs at Grimes Point Sand Mountain a HUGE sand dune in a very unexpected place
