Oregons wet welcome

As predicted the weather packed in. It rained during the night and we awoke to a damp tent luckily no water had leaking inside. We packed up and hit the road and pretty well could see nothing of the fantastic scenery. So we put up in a church for the morning service and waited for the weather to clear. The church proved very welcoming and friendly but it was more traditional than I am used toIt

In late April 2005 Nan Shad and I made a photo safari to the Columbia Gorge towing our light weight Quicksilver foldout tent trailer behind our Subi Forester. It was our first outing since our trip last September east to the Grande Tetons and Yellowstone National Parks. Many of the photos made on this trip are available for view and purchase from my online gallery at NW ExposuresEarlier this yea

River Rafting down the Deschutes

Corey and I had a great time this weekend away from planning and packing to enjoy the Deschutes river with some friends. It was a quick trip just two days on the river to cover 70 miles down a river to the mouth of the Deschutes where it emptied into the mighty Columbia River. The weather in the high desert of Oregon was very hot and dry which is by the way the best weather for river rafting.
