Had quite a bad nightrsquos sleep last night due to all the loud snoring going on in the bunkhouse. We all got ready and got in the van on our way to Bryce Canyon National Park. But it was quite a long drive so Jon took a shortcut through a dirt road called the lsquoGrand Staircasersquo which is closed when there has been rain anytime in the last week lucky for us there hadnrsquot.
Lake Powell

We woke as normal and packed the trailer ready for our relatively short trip to a place called Lake Powell. We first stopped at a small Navajo market which was located just off the side of the road but in the middle of nowhere. We looked through the small stores full of hand made weapons and jewelry. I ended up buying a wristband made from dried seeds I also was looking for something to send home

August 1820st We arrived at Lake Powell on August 18th after a 4hour drive from Bryce. The trip was fairly uneventful. We passed right by Zion and I mentioned to Joe that maybe we should add that to our trip. Although we are having an amazing time I think all of us are looking forward to some routine when we land at our new home.We are staying at the Wahweap RV Park at Lake Powell. I learne

Visited Monument Valley a few days ago. Baking temperatures but enjoyed a hair raising jeep tour with a Navajo Indian Willie from the Redbottom tribe only realised the pun a few days ago. Anyway we went on this awesome tour and saw some amazing monuments. Willie was a great guide and we were able to get out of the jeep to hike on some of the Mesa's where we saw cool arches and circles. I

Hi We made it to the Grand Canyon. We stayed near Zion again last night in the town of Springdale. It's a nice little town with a good coffee shop. There aren't any chain restaurants or fast food in the town which is unusual for this area. This morning we drove from Zion to Lake Powell Glen Canyon Dam and on to Grand Canyon. We stopped at Horseshoe Point and hiked out to the river. It w

Today I drove another group of lucky buggers to Page for a rafting trip. But then I continued on to Lake Powell and made a lucky bugger of myself It is so nice there White sandy beaches warm blue water and sunshine Just what I needed to make a few hours seem like a few minutes. I went to Lone Rock Beach within the Lake Powell National Recreation Area. Lone Rock is named after the... ahe

Things left behind

I left an expensive raincoat on a bus somewhere in South America a couple of months ago. I left a favourite cap on a bus in Rio a month ago. I left way too much many at the roulette tables in Vegas a few days ago. And I left my soul in Lake Powell the first time I visited it many years ago. This time I left the tooth that was pulled in Buenos Aires there as well. I'm not sure whether this violates
