If you are like me an eternal procrastinator you are probably still deciding where to spend these coming holidays. A great option to consider and I say this by experience is the beautiful Lake Tahoe. This extraordinary place not only offers great lodging alternatives and numerous Lake Tahoe vacation rentals it nestles you in the mountains on the border of California and Nevada with plenty of o

Lake Tahoe sits on the border of California and Nevada we arrived via the Nevada border. Casinos line the main highway in and the scenes were very pretty of the beginning of the lake. The hotel we were hoping for was actually in California so we passed over the cross roads that marks the two borders. We always like finding such places where it says welcome to California on one side and you are

My birthday passed in Smith Rock. A good day and a good time overall. From Smith we head south to California. It is obvious before we even get there that this one trip will be more reconnaissance than anything else California is a huge state with vast opportunities for climbing to say nothing of all the other forms of outdoor recreation. Anticipation runs high as we drive through the night tow

Early morning on the road and I was behind the wheel. US route 395 was the road that was to take us the majority of the way to our next destination which was Carson City in Nevada. This may sound like a strange place to visit and I guess it kinda is. But for the fact that James also has family there that had invited us to stay we probably wouldn't have gone. It infact turned out to be some of th

We went to play minigolf today at Kings Beach Miniature Golf formerly known as Boberts for those who have been coming here many years. Robyn has been coming here for minigolf since she was a little girl. And her Dad Gene has been coming here since he was little tooSome of the obstacles say Vintage 1957 on them. I hope I didn't break any of them. I can be a ferocious minigolfer.Robyn show

Headed down to the Truckee River today for some wicked white water rafting with Robyn and her Dad.The river was extra low so it was extremely dangerous. We almost died many times. We took a rough turn on Jaws but slid quite neatly through the teeth and then took a bucking ride on Bronco. Those were by far and away the roughest runs. However we did prevail.Carrying the boat up was a chore but we

This was still a beautiful place and everything from the bank

But the Tuesday was the start of a good week of riding for me. As it was my day off I headed up to Sierra for a day of riding. The riggers of work and partying were starting to take their toll for some of the house mates. Others just increased their partying antics. The regular 3 nights out for the dollar drink specials had slowed but there was always a mid week party to be found somewhere. The parties were usually categorized into the

Before I head south for the winter I am hitting the Big Apple for five full days of city hustle and bustle. I have never been to NY so this will be quite the opening act for what I anticipate to be an outrageous show. But before I can really focus on what awaits me I have to say some goodbyes to family and friends. I
