Just like my adventure to Lucerne less than a week prior I took a day trip to the mountains of Oman. I was the closest Irsquove ever been to Iran though on this trip I seem to be resetting that record each subsequent place I visit. After spending an evening in Dubai my brother thought itrsquod be a good idea to take a road trip through the mountains of Oman. So we hopped in his really nic

The last couple of days have seen us trawl up more marine life to analyse quite a few technical problems with a bit of gear so have been kept busy with a few more challenging problems the heat and humidy play funny games with electronics. Photos are of samples caught lots of electric rays sardines various tropical fish a few sea eels. The sunsets and sunrises are unlike anything I've eve

Did a dhow tour lil bit of trekking and getting wet in the rain. Saw lots of dolphins swimmin around birds walkin around and people fooling around. It was freezing cold though and it was raining cats and dogs. We were waiting with our cameras for a bit of sunshine to get some

The Ade Tour Day 5

Well today saw the Ade family circus leave Khasab to venture back into the wilds of the UAE. We counted our blessing as we left Khasab that we had done the dhow cruise the day before as a rather stiff wind had blown up overnight and one thinks that the people on todayrsquos dhow cruises would not have had as enjoyable time as we did the day before. Quite frankly the wind was more than a little s

The Ade Tour Day 4

Well today saw us getting up and making our way off to our Dhow adventure. I had booked a dhow cruise for us all in the fjords of the musandam. When we arrived at the wharf there were about 7 dhows all lined up and the nice man who greeted us told us that we were on Dhow 4 today. So we climbed over the first three dhows and settled ourselves in on Dhow 4. Out dhow soon filled up with Indian fam

Diving the Musandam

Chelle finally made it diving in the UAE. Yesterday morning at the ungodly hour of 430am she got up and headed off to the Jumeirah Beach Hotel to join a group of divers heading up to the Musandam peninsular in Oman. The trip was rather long. 2 hours in a bus and then another 2 hours on a Dhow. However the Dhow was lovely and Chelle spent her time on a sun lounger on the deck reading a book one o

To exit from the UAE it cost AED 60 and AED 20 enter into Oman anyhow there is no charges to return back to UAE.I took the afternoon Sea Adventure trip AED 150. The main activities is to see the Dophin mountain seeing and snokering.

Cruising the Fjords of Oman

It was an early start this morning and the muezzins call to prayer belted out across the city by loud speaker makes alarm clocks unnecessary. The first time you experience this it is incredibly exotic but after about the second day you start sticking in ear plugs I am glad that it is banned at home.My bus arrived on time and we were on our way it took roughly an hour to pick up the tourists and t
