I was up the next morning early July 20th 2008 and on the train to Chiba. The Lions were at Chiba Marine Stadium for the last of a three game set on the coast and were closing in on a sweep. All that stood between them was the Chiba ace Shunsukue Watanabe who despite playing in a cellar team was having one of the best seasons of his life and had been already selected to represent Japan in

Hey.Well this is my final entry.Yesterday was pretty uneventful. All this travel has caught up to us i think. We're pretty shattered at the moment. So we did some washing and chilled at home with some music. Cold and wet too so going out was kinda pointless. Went into Tokyo last night but we bailed after about 2hrs.Today sat we're off to the Tokyo Dome to see a Baseball game. Really excited abo

The first 24 hours in Japan

So how has the first 24 hours in Japan been so far A bit like being the ball in a giant pinball machine. Bouncing around from here to there amidst bright lights and lots of sound. After a mind numbing 17 hours on airplanes Kaori's father met us at the airport to take us to their home. After having been awake for over 24 hours we should have felt it but I think both of our brains were abuzz wit

Our flight out of Winnipeg was quite ordinary. Thanks to my Dad we arrived at YWG only to have to wait in one of the longest lines I have ever seen at the Winnipeg Airport. Over 300 people waiting to go through security in Winnipeg. It appears that everyone had flights leaving at 800. The start of the Friday 13th curse. With the line seeming to move backwards at times what better way to pass ou

After China trip I think about airplane meals. Well I had never taken Japanese Airplane before Beijing trip. Japanese friends often complained airplane meal except ANA or JAL because of the qualities. I remembered Continental Airline provided great meals when I went to Boston from Tokyo 10 years ago and Swiss Air had a huge choice of drink. I didn't think Japanese airlines did only provide

Golf and spa

There is a group of golfers at Invesco. I wouldn't so much call them golfers as golf enthusiasts. They absolutely love the game and hosted one of their two annual outings a couple of weeks ago in Chiba. Chiba is about a 2 hour drive outside of Tokyo. You have to drive under Tokyo Bay to get to it. Back in the bubble days here the government built one of the most expensive tunnels ever run

We took her to a hospital and it turns out she had a gallstone attack. She's never had that before but she is better now but still feeling a bit vulnerable. She has to keep off the fatty food. Laurie looked up the web which said
