Having travelled a third of the way northwards along Australia's mighty west coast the southwest beckoned but before that I had a grand weekend catching up with my second cousin Jon and his wife Penny and with friends of Lesley Con and Liz. Both couples were very generous of their time and company and we spent happy hours talking about all sorts. It was great to renew relationships and make

It was a bit overcast and trying to rain so it didn't look as nice as it could have done. It was still pretty though and I managed a paddle. After that we went to the Valley of the giants tree top walk which was great. It was a wal

The town itself is pretty big. Again itrsquos just one main street but it seems a lot busier that all the others. We didnrsquot bother booking a space at the one and only caravan park but luckily there was a space for us. We found out th

Roadtrip 1 Day 4 Margaret River to Pemberton via Augusta

It was time to leave Margaret River. As you head south from Maragaret River you drive past loads of different cave systems. The guidebooks said that Jewel Cave was the best so we headed for that one. I have to admit it was pretty impressive. A massive place filled with stalagmites stalagtites and even halectites which are really weird they defy gravity. There was even a fossilised possum

Well after Cape Le Grand we were a little worried that moving on would be a disappointment. Being unable to take Tilly into Stokes inlet due to the rough road we decided to head for Waychinicup National Park about 550km further west. Having been introduced to National Park camping I think we are in danger of becoming addicted the sites are all lovely some have loos and showers but even the ones

Our Map of Perth the Margaret River We leave Perth at 7.30am to drive the 400km south to Pemberton. The main reason for travelling so far south is to visit the ldquoValley of Giantsrdquo which according to Bill Brysons travel book ldquoDown Underrdquo is one of the best attractions in Western Australia.
