Leaving Melboure was not easy because we wanted to stay there longer but had booked the next accomodation about 6 months ago and we got confused on the road going to St Kilda. We eventually got to St. Kilda and it was very windy and we were amazed at how much it had changed. Luna Park was still there it was having its 100 anniversary but there were some lovely restaurants on the front and it had

So there we are after a very chilly night on the Prom luckily we could snuggle up in the van where it was lovely and warm but I did miss not being able to sit outside never happy There were signs in the loos telling people not to leave food in tents as the wombats will rip the canvas to get to the food it also said in the travel books that the wombats are so tame they just ignore you as y

Down Southern Victoria

There was quite a lot of driving yesterday through the thick state forest which edges the highway. We drove around the once old whaling port of Eden now it's main industry is timber. We drove around town this time bypassing the very good whale museum which we went through last time. We did enjoy fish and chips down by the waterfront though and saw another seal in the water. I'd forgotten I'd se

Flying from Darwin to Brisbane my long journey seemed mostly at an end as I was picked up at the airport by Genevieve Edward and Alexander my sister and her two young boys. A few days later my parents joined us on the Gold Coast and we celebrated an early Christmas together. So no more would I sleep in bed bug ridden beds clutching my passport to my chest. No more would I wake up trying to r

Ryan the pom is leaving tomorrow to head back to sunny England. The A grade season has finished now and I think he's ready to get back. He decided to have an initiation 2020 cricket match to go out in style. I was asked to play more for a bit of English support I think but It was great fun and not very serious. We started drinking before the game started and continued throughout play and after t

The cricket club put on a progressive dinner on Sunday. For those who don't know this is where you go to 2 or 3 houses to eat depending on the number of courses. We all met at the club around 11am with a slab each. First job was getting the beer in the coolers. After a swift couple we set off to the first port of call which was Pongo's house for starters. It was another really hot day so it was im

Hi allWell in two weeks we are off to see the world and start our adventure. At the moment we are just kicking back in Yarram and Sandy Point enjoying the wind which is preventing us from enjoying a surf before we go. At least we'll be used to the wind for when we arrive in Ireland. If this travelblog thing is quick uploading photos etc I think we will use this as our online diary rather th

When the North wind doth blow...

...she shall bring snow. Not around here she don't more like a forty degree wave of heat from the furnacelike interior. So to avoid frying we are up with the cockatoos and cycling by daybreak. This strategy is working remarkably well delivering comfortable rides in cool temperatures and on quiet roads and arrival at destination by lunchtime thus giving us the afternoon and evening for ass

Here are some pictures from the place Ive been working at in Traralgon. Graham Tainton owns the place and was kind enough to give me a job while his engineer was away on Honeymoon. I've been repairing all sorts of electrical appliances and delivering them all round the area. Been a great way to meet people and see a bit of the area. Had so many people invite me round for tea or BBQ. Unfortunate
