May 26 2009. let the trip begin...

We left Charlotte early in the morning ready to a 11 hours trip 720 miles. But thunderstorms and the not so brilliant idea of detour from I95 to the scenic A1A which wasnrsquot scenic at all made our trip became 13 hours. Here are two pictures from Fernandina Beach at the extreme northeast of Florida. As you can see they allow cars at the beach but just on designated areas.

I told a neighboring boat a few days ago that I have gotten very lazy. All I want to do is sit on the boat and eat and have a glass or two of wine and sleep and read. They told me that it is called Keys Desease and the only cure is to get out of the Keys. Ha.I did manage to play softball today for the first time since my pulled muscle two weeks ago. No one fell or pulled anything today we must be

Lazy in Marathon

Still in Marathon and getting lazier. Had a great turkey meal yesterday. Everyone brought a dish and someone at the marina supplied Turkey and mashed potatoes. There were probably 200 people here. I forced myself to not eat until I got sick. It has happened before. Then back to the boat and read and napped the rest of the day. A few people are coming down in the next few weeks for various reasons

Escape

What a crazy month it has been since I last wrote. Two of the wwoofers Tom and Cassie left the farm the first week in December. Tom went back home to New Jersey and Cassie went to Key West with Jason a guy we met in Key West over Thanksgiving. That left just Chris and I on the farm in Miami. Nothing against Chris but I have definitely felt Cassie and Tomrsquos absence more than I thought
