I was really amazed when we arrived in Brisbane. There are many high rise buildings and some really nice bridges all very nicely illuminated. The city really looks like a great place. I stayed in a small hostel close to the Valley which is the main area for going out at night. Although I booked a single room I got a huge double room with fire place for the same price. You've got to be lucky som

Brisbane

We'd booked into one of the main hostels in Brisbane a week ahead of time as it was Anzac day on Saturday and the city was packed. We were disapointed with the hostel but that was to be expected after leaving our home away from home among friends in Mooloolaba.Anzac day was pretty interesting. They held a parade downtown and we grabbed a spot amongst all the other Aussies honouring their war vets.

To say that Fortitude Valley is a bit rough is kind of like saying that it rains a bit in Plymouth. However Fortitude Valley is not without its charms . . its just a little bit difficult finding them when you initially set foot in the place. We stayed at the FV Apartments on Bismark St I think thats what it was called and once again luxuriated in the total R and R that it was having our own apa

No visiting the theme parks on the gold coast today but the motorhome has been equipped by Govans with a LCD TV and DVD player so down to the video rental shop to hire some movies and microwave some popcorn.

We had to head off in the morning as Dunc had managed to get some Stereophonics concert tickets. They were playing in Brisbane and we had managed to secure four. The Phonics are favourites of ourshelliphellip and Lisa came along too. She is into that ldquoBoom Boomrdquo rubbish and mixed with a dodgy educational past means that she can tell a story or two. The concert didnrsquot start

We had our own apartment in Surfer's It made all the difference to have our own kitchen bathroom living area and most importantly a TV There isn't a lot of things to do in Surfer's Paradise so we created our own entertainment with girly nights in and various nights out.
I had thought in my ignorance that due to the fact that ourselves and Madge were sticking strictly to the coast from here on in there would actually be things to see along the way. Apparently not. After leaving Airlie Beach we passed through ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for two whole days. And I mean NAHTHING.
