Settling in in St Kilda

Me and Siobhan have moved into an apartment We're sharing a one bedroom studio which is two minutes from the beach. It's great to finally get full nights of sleep. The hostel life is brilliant for meeting people but when you're sharing a room with seven others the only way to guarantee a full night of sleep was to get blind drunk not good for the bank balance or the the liver This was diffic

Back to workbriefly

We arrived back in Melbourne to find that the weather had certainly changed since we lefthellipit was 7PM and the temperature was somewhere in the mid 30s. We had booked accommodation for the next 10 days in a St. Kilda flat which was really central just off the main street. It seems that the entire population of Melbourne descends on St. Kilda for hot Sunday afternoons so by the time we had f

We left the Blue Mountains for a long drive Southwards through some surprisingly green countryside. At Kiama we stopped to see the blow hole but we caught it on a calm day when it wasnrsquot doing much blowing but it was a jolly good hole We jumped out of the car to grab lunch in the small town of Milton where we were surprised that the weather outside was very hot and windy it felt like a

Down UnderThis is going to be a long entry might be a bit boring but for the people I haven't told that much I wanted to summarise what I have done since getting to Melbourne in July. I can't believe I have been away from the UK for four months now time has flown by and it only seems like yesterday that I had a BBQ and said goodbye to everyone in Hinckley My first term at La Trobe University h

Koalas Ever since I was a little girl koalas have been my favorite animal. Not for any particular reason I just always loved them. And going to the Sydney Zoo totally reinforced that fact I went completely soft for them. Now I don't consider myself particularly girly but get me to a zoo and I go gaga over the baby animals especially the baby Asian elephant that was just born in July

As I've said before I liked St Kilda. Thought the tram ride was going to kill Ange won't go into the details but an old boy wouldn't let her sit down even though she was sick because he was saving the seat for his wife who was already happily seated at the front of the tram and when we got there it was blowing a gale but in the end it all turn out for the best. For a start Ben and Jerry's w

Just back from a weekend in Melbourne and I can confirm that they do have trams tree lined streets and a dirty great cricket ground. Wasn't sure what to make of it at first it is a lot different to Sydney as people never tire of telling you and the wide boulevards do make it feel a little more European but it's all a bit more complicated than that. I guess it's true that it's a more stylish p

Four of my friends and I Patrick Oonagh Lizzie and Maxim decided to take a road trip to Byron Bay about 10 hours to the north of Sydney. However on Saturday when we were getting ready to leave we saw that the weather was going to be bad in Byron so instead we decided to head 10 hours in the
