Extremely hungover I got up intending to sunbathe by the pool but last minute I thought I actually really like Valletta so I'm going to go back there for the day So I did ate again at La Sicila which was a lot busier on a Saturday and then walked round aimlessly ending my day sunbathing in Hastings Gardens on the wall overlooking the 3 cities if you ever go here I was on the thick wall yo

Malta day 5

Got up bright and early today to go to Valletta. Only 54c on the bus. Valletta is the capital of Malta and it is one of the tiniest capitals in the world. Starting at City Gate outside which you are spoilt for choice for snacksdrinks etc at one of the many kiosks. I first went to see Fort St Elmo which is now the Police academy and where the War Museum is located. It's quite spooky thinking abo

Malta Day 3

I got up really early today with the intention of going to Mdina early before the daytripping tourists and then to do some sunbathing on the bay next to Golden Bay before I had to drop the car back before 1130. The first part of this went to plan...I saw Mdina again early on. Beautiful. Then I spent about 2 hours trying to find Golden Bay continuously going round in circles. Grrrr. As it turns

Malta Day 4

Today was Comino day. I'm thinking about becoming a tour whore so much simpler. But do any of you notice how just before the tour touts have taken your money they are oh so friendly then on the day and you're just another bloody tourist its not so smileyThe boat took us to various caves e.g Smugglers Cave in Malta Lovers Cave Popeye's cave and about four others in Comino. It also took us int

So you know I said I double booked myself today with a tour and a car hire Well I rang the tour company to postpone till Thursday. It was the least Topaz could do letting me use their phone to compensate for its shoddiness. Honestly breakfast was rank cold felt like I was eating in an old people's home. No 4 I can tell you And little things aswel like the waitress's uniform which looked li

Do any of you find that arriving in a country you've never been to before always looks and seems and feels completely different to how you imagined it would It almost feels like a third world country but at the same time clearly isn't The first thing that struck me travelling from the airport to my hotel in Bugibba was the buildings Every single wall looks like it's gonna fall down because of

Back in March Scott and I took at long weekend to Malta I was between jobs at BP and Capgemini. We flew out on easyjet not that pleasant to Malta which is just off Italy in the med. We got some good weather for our 4 night stay in St Julian a few bays around from the walled capital of Valletta. One of the days we did a hoponhopoff bus around the south eastern parts of the island of Malta.

HeySo I was getting bored of Brussels. It had been stiflingly hot for a couple of weeks 29 degrees and 90 humidity and I decided that I needed to get out of town. I felt like going somewhere near the water so I decided that Malta would be a great choice. I hopped on the train to the airport and after it picked me up I felt a little ill at ease. I was thinking to myself that it was odd that it

Day 54I arrived in Malta at some ridiculous hour with no baggage or sleep only to have to wait 12 hr for a bus and then another 12 hour for the next one to get me to my hostel. After negotiating the busy streets I managed to find the place I'd be living in for the next 2 weeks. My next mission was to get toiletries so I could shower lucky for me I had a change of clothes in my carry on so I didn

I decided to go to Malta for my February break this time. I went with my friend Christina for five days. It was an amazing place very relaxing and a fantastic choice for break. It is not a place that many Americans go or know where it is for that matter it's an island near Sicily in the Meditteranean. Malta seems to have a sort of identity crisisimagine a country that is a mix between Italy B
