Staying in a youth hostel is sometimes the most wonderful way of travelling mostly because of the people you meet. Schwedenhaus The Swedish House in Innsbruck is of the nicer kind. Right on the river Inn at the foot of the mountains. Wonderful. I'm stuffed in to a room with one Italian guy and one German dude. The Italian speaks very little English. With a mix of ItalianSpanishEnglish I am a

...hit the ground running in Austria

... so about midday on Wednesday we breathlessly arrived in Vienna. Accidentally landed in a quite flash hotel due to the assistance of the grumpiest man in Austria at the airport info desk. PS Vienna airport is full of unattended luggage including a poor little cat in a cage that had a very big day. Discovered an excellent oldschool giant ferris wheel did an obligatory bus tour and ate

Last night we arrived at the apartment after 1030pm greeted by the receptionist at the time who thankfully spoke English. The apartment is huge the largest by far we've stayed in so far. The only downside so far is that the reception is rarely manned and when we did contact someone this morning to ask about washing they couldn't speak a word of English.I've been trying to find an EnglishG

Enroute to Zagreb we find ourselves in the businessclass lounge in Vienna airport waiting for our flight to Zagreb and I could not pass the opportunity to use the free access to the internet even though I have nothing really special to say.
This morning we woke to get an early start on the day and I wanted eggs for breakfast today I missed out on them yesterday. My foot felt the same as yesterday which wasn't encouraging. The plan was for me to stay in our room until checkout at 1130am and then catch the bus into the city to meet Karina then we'd come back at 4pm to collect our bags and catch the train to Vienna.
Last night we arrived in Salzburg after 10pm and caught a taxi straight to our hotel. We picked the key up from the hotel restaurant and went straight up to our room wow The room is huge larger than our apartment in Paris and more roomy than our NY apartment We crashed immediately. We woke this morning to spectacular weather and a snowcapped alpine vista out our window.
Well while in Munich a day trip to Salzburg was a necessary venture due to the fact that CMurda's a huge Sound of Music fan. It's funny though because the locals in Salzburg could give a rat's ass about the Sound of Music as most of them have never seen it Salzburg is not very big 150000 and it's totally doable in a day. It is however a cool town to stroll through and has amazing scenery

It was a very beautiful train ride lasting about 3 hours and went mainly through mountains and valleys. It was a sunny day but the mountains in the distance had snow covering their peaks. The countryside was how you would imagine old Austria to be pity Graz isnt. Our first impressions of Graz was that it was Austria

Our Easter travels started off in a somewhat interesting manner. Firstly our driver to Stansted airport was seemingly drunk and had little competence in driving which was combined with the possibility that Al was going to be car sick was quite eventful. I've been fortunate enough to have been to vienna twice the first time was to visit my friend stephanie. I wanted to visit her in austria and vienna seemed like a convenient place to meet up. When we had went we went to go see 2 museums in vienna the kunsthistoriches and the belvedere. the kunsthistoriches

Today I've finally made up my mind to change my operation schedule. This is mainly because of two reasons1. Seasons in South America are different to ours about 6 month. This means that when whe have summer there's winter in South America of course not all the country. That means that winter is almost starting there at the moment and if I go there in June it definitely will not be the

Well it's spring now and time for me to go out and explore parts of Austria I've never seen before. One of these places is Riegersburg...one of the coolest castles Burg I've seen so far which lies on the Styrian border of Burgenland which used to be the border to the former Ottoman Empire. German makes the difference between castle Schloss and castle used for defense Burg for example
