Hot Hot Hot. It is indeed desert so that explains the temperature. Today we visited Joshua Trees National Park. A huge park with these peculiar trees everywhere and with round rock formations in background. Nice photo opportunities. The nice thing about the park that it is really set up for a 'car visit' So we turned on the airco and enjoyed the ride We spotted egghorns and even several Road

This was an unusual aproach to our national holiday but we had a lot of fun and definitely we beat the heat. With few polish friends with whom we are starting Polish Club in our valley we decided to do the bonding by walking 11 miles and gain and lose 2600' about 870 m by climbing San Jacinto Peak second tallest in So. California 10804 '.It was still the easiest way to get there because w

Just returned from a trip to Palm Springs for the White Party. I must admit I have not been for a few years as I found the number of men on crystal meth and other such drugs a real turn off on the last few occasions I visited.I stayed at Camp Palm Springs a resort I have stayed at many times before and was warmly welcomed back by the owners a very genuine welcome from people who feel like frien

I went from the beautiful Indian Waters RV Resort into the parking lot at the Fantasy Springs Casino. My friend BJ Barbara Jean arrived on time and we enjoyed a couple of hours walking around the casino grounds and then out to dinner. The casino is on Indian land and is run by the Cabazon Indian Tribe. The grounds are really beautiful. We registered at the casino for the freebees and got ours

You have been warnedAs you approach Las Vegas you can almost smell the sin in the air not for nothing is this place known for extreme enjoyment and shattered dreams. You see the giant hotel blocks rising out of the desert valley as you make your way down from the mountains that surround this oasis of sin.
I recently visited Palm Springs for the first time and had a great new experience. The travelers were diverse and there were plenty of recreational activities. I definitely plan on returning next year. Weknowwhatyouneed.com helped make the decision to go and I highly recommend it

It all started with a man a mule and a mission. In 1913 the natural beauty of this idyllic spot located at the base of the San Bernardino Mountains beckoned homesteader Cabot Yerxa and his trusty black burro named Merry Christmas. His successful quest for water paved the way for modern explorers to continue the trek to Desert Hot Springs. These days visitors come to stake a claim on the tran

We were regulars there for a while since my Aunt had a boss with a big house there in Palm Desert. We have been there a few times as well. It is no secret that winter is the best time to go otherwise it is like Vegas and Scottsdale in the summer TOO hot. Palm Springs looks rather old and tired these days. Most of the fa

Thursday 19th June to Sunday 22nd JuneOne of the major plus points of living in a place such as California in a country that exists by the Live to Work ethic as opposed to my own favoured Work to Live theory is that there are so many things to do and see if not within driving distance then at least within a reasonably priced flight cost and time that can easily transform any particular weekend in

In April I took a threeday trip to Palm Springs which was a number of firsts for me. In getting there it was my first time flying from Milwaukee to Chicago to make a connection and it was the first time I have flown on a propeller plane from LA to Palm Springs. The Milwaukee to Chicago flight is a pretty ridiculous. The two airports are 55 miles apart and the plane covers that distance at 7
