As i mentioned in the last blog Myles had been really wanting to go snorkeling and since our last attempt did not work it was the day Myles was deathly ill. yesterday we signed up for a tour to Cahuita National Park and some snorkeling at the point there. Cahuita is one of only two living coral reefs in all of Costa Rica and it is supposed to be beautiful. We wo

Hello there readersToday was fun. We have been here now a little over two weeks and since Cindy and George have arrived it has been nice to show someone everything we have seen and learned. We all woke up quite early to make it to the farmers market before all the food was picked over. We got into town at about 815am or so. We warned Cindy and George that the farmers market was really small but

We got up and headed to Banana Azul to rent some bikes again. We got on the road around 845. We were heading to the Jaguar Sanctuary just south of town. The sun was shining which was nice because the past couple of days have been kind of over cast

Ive traversed more hills today than I ever cared to. But the rewards were huge...great conversations wonderful food deserted private beaches...I attatched myself to a girl from Holland who just finished two months volunteering at a turtle conservation and we went for what turned out to be quite possibly the worlds longest walk. Taking advice from the hostel worker we took back roads and steep

I woke up around 845 and hung out on the porch waiting for Myles to wake up. I wanted to let him sleep because i know he has been going to bed very late. Today we found it Dana met a Swiss architect who was renting out a big house by himself for a few months and invited us to stay with him. Our answer of course was yes To get out there you had to sit or st

Soft fluffy mattresses duvets and 4 pillows per bed Also a jacuzzi bath Amy has asked if we can stay longer. We haven't ventured into San Jose city as rumour has it that it's not particularly nice. However we did have a fab day yesterday at a place called InBio Park just 20 mins from the hotel.
Ever since I started my school in Coronado I've really come to appreciate rural community living. When most ESL teachers get to Costa Rica they picture themselves sipping a Pia Colada lying in a hammock watching the sunset. And this is what most of us do at first. However once the thrill of the beach wears off we find ourselves back in San Jose searching for more sustainable teaching jobs

Today was a terrible day. Terrible. The word cant be repeated enough. Lets start at the beginning. Got up at 5am to catch the 6am bus next to the hostel. Saw a lovely sunrise but the bus was half an hour late. 1.5 hours and one incredibly whiney child and smelly man later our bus arrived at Paquera dropping us to catch the Ferry which was fine fine fine and we arrived at Punta Arenas on
