Newport OR

I think using photographs and video's may be a cheat. It's harder to describe something when you know you can just relay on photos and videos but that's okay. I will do my best for you.My mother and I decided that the 28th would be a good day to go out to the Aquarium. Which is in Newport. Looking up the directions we discovered that there is a Toledo OR. This is funny to me as most of my family

Well because I could not put up that footage of beautiful Santa Barbara last time I bring you three videos of Florence. I did label one downtown shops but it's really just one. And it's really just a mural. Though I think it's very pretty. Not much to report my first full day in Florence my mother drove me to the shops on the marina. At least I think that is what you would call it. I guess in May

Bend

After the Hot Springs I drove to Bend on October 21st. Bend was extremely beautiful and refreshing. Colorful fall weather and again some really great people that crossed my way. Among them a lady with Luxembourgish origins I bumped into accidentally one evening when I got lost on my way to my great couchsurfing hosts Elizabeth and Brandon and their housemates Jennifer and Chuck. We connected

After leaving Portland I went to the Bagby Hot Springs beautiful and rustic spot at one hour foot walk into the woods. I arrived late and ended up staying all night in a big wooden hot tub with a quite funny and diverse group of people.

After Rainier and St Helens I arrived in Portland where I ended up staying another week at Lanz' and Christen's place. For once my wonderful hosts were not couchsurfers but Lanz is a friend of a friend of mine in Luxembourg who told me to contact her. Lanz and Christen were amazingly welcoming and we had a truly great time together making grape juice playing music going for coffee long conver

Unfortunately I have no photos to post. My cell phone died as I was coming out of the station and I didn't yet have a camera. So this will have to do. I hope my description is enough to let you know what I am talking about. I arrived in Eugene but did not leave right away for Florence. I met my mother at the train depot and we went to lunch. We went to a Japanese restaurant near the station only a

We left Roseburg heading north to Sutherlin and West on 138 to get to 101. It was a great drive really beautiful scenery and the Dodge handled the hills and corners really well. I on the other hand was not as fortunate. Bob is a great driver but Irsquove decided that Irsquom not the best passenger. I white knuckled just about every even remotely sharp corner. Visions of streaks of

I made it home...my luggage hasn't. Big SighIndia was wonderful but I am happy to be home. In reflection it was a very agressive schedule and I'm not sure I would do the trip the same way if I were to replan it. I was trying to see as much as possible but spending no more than 2 nights in any town can take its toll on a person. India is a huge country and I wish I could have seen more of i

We flew into Portland Yea I told Desi I would kiss the ground when we got there. However I was too distracted by the fresh moist pineneedley air. I would still kiss the ground any day anywhere in Portland. It has to be about 1000 times cleaner than the ground I trudge through here...hehhee...These are just some of our Portland photos before and after our trips across the U.S. to Colorado

We were far away from internet access at the time on the move and not writing much about our experiences in order to share them with you. So Irsquod like to take this opportunity to reminisce now.The dunes are an otherworldly place. The smooth beige unmarred silky windswept rolling expanse has an immense elegance. I f

We've stayed at several Oregon State Parks and have found them all nice clean and inexpensive and they usually include showers.Don't have an RV or even a tent A few parks include yurts for rent. A yurt looks like a cross between a tent and a cabin. It's warmer than a tent and can be large enough for a small family or group. Check availability at various parks. They contain bunks but you probably
