Georgetown and on to Singapore.

Colonial Georgetown on Penang Island in Malaysia. I caught the ferry which was very cheap and very busy a short walk away from Butterworth station. On the other side I headed straight to the bus station and asked which one of the new and airconditioned buses would take me to Georgetown. I asked several people and always got a confused look and at the most the question ldquoWhich part of Ge

Just thought I could share some of my insights on my recent Penang TripReached Changi Airport at around 10.00 on Sunday 29 Nov 2009 as our flight is departing at 1125. We were taking Air Asia Flight AK5802. Quite excited as we as a family have not travelled overseas for quite some time since Year 2002 so I was kind of excited to bring all of us on a trip planned by myself. Our flight was delayed

Well every summit has its descent and mine from glorious Mt. Phuket was treacherous The Emperor and Retodd got in a taxi for there 30 minute ride to the airport. I boarded a crowded mini bus that was suppose to take me to a proper bus station. Nope never happened instead I switched mini buses 3 different times and somehow arrived in Penang Malaysia 12 hours later. I might have been bitter if

After the beuatiful underwater worlds of Ko Tao I took a boat back to the mainland and a night train to Malaysia a new country for me to visitThe border crossing went pretty smooth and around 13h I arrived in Butterworth where I would take the ferry to Georgetown Penang. Penang is an island that also has a bridge connecting it to the mainland. The ferry took about 1520 minutes and from th

Monkeying around in Penang

We left the boat and travelled to Penang by ferry. You can of course sail there yourself but horror stories circulate about Penang harbour complete with dead dogs and monkeys floating in the water so the ferry seemed a safer option and it is only a 2 12 hour journey. There are a lot of monkeys in Malaysia in general. They often congregate at the roadside looking for a passerby to feed them
