Week number 3hellip Getting acquainted to a normal summer schedule here where I work 4 days of the week and have off on Wednesday Saturday and Sunday. Not that bad. Pretty much I hang out with the kids in the morning by going to one of the parks in town then we go back to the house where I make some lunch and they take a nap for a couple hours. From 3pm until the rest of the day I have o

Planning to what extent of it is desirable1 To be absolutely detailed in planning every nook and cranny of a trip in such a way that nothing can go wrong. Things to do items to bring hostel bookings train passes route maps are all religiously prepared so that everything is 'under control' with plan Bs in stow. After all if one fails to plan one is planning to fail. Some might even say

I have never been to this part of the world so I am really excited to step foot into this continent. Well Europe has always been a coverted choice as a travel destination but stayed out of my reach due to its increasing cost of living. I am fortunate enough to be granted a study exchange program with

Three Must See Places In VeniceWhile visiting Venice I experienced the true meaning of discovery. Sure I followed the maps and the mobs to San Marcos Square and Rialto Bridge but that wasn't what I will remember about my travels. I will remember taking the time to get lost a little because that is when you find the gems of the city. On my wanders there were three places that stuck out from al

So I have had very little time to write but wanted to just share my abridged final week in Italy. Take a look at my facebook for most of my Italy pictures. Hopefully will find time to post them properly in the near future. So Venice was lovely. It had my favorite cathedral. Lots of gold leaf mozaics. Walked through the city. Heard more english then italian spoken on the street. Walked throug

Last Day Night in VeniceRobert and I woke up to the wonderful view from our room of the Grand Canal. Went off to view the Doges Palace what a sight I still can't get over how much these men revered themselves. A thunderstorm came through while we were in the palace. Went back to our room for couple of hours and then decided to go have a cocktail before getting ready for dinner and a gond

There is not a huge amount to discuss. Favo

Hello from Venice So far this is one of the most incredible cities I've ever been to. It's hard to believe that people actually get around here the way they do. The canals are unreal. We took a ride on a gondola last night which was wonderful and Venice doesn't smell as bad as I'd heard. However a lot of the people are jerks. I got chewed out by an accordian player last night for being too lou

Had a very long and full 22nd birthday. Spent the evening of the 21st and the wee hours of the morning in Milan with my friends from the first camp I worked at. Stayed up very late and then went back to say good bye to my host family in Milan at 8am. Met up with another tutorcouncer in Milan and drove to our new camp in Largo which is in North Italy near Vechenza and Verona about an hour awa

We are now on day 15 7th. May and the morning out of Salzburg takes us around some of the nearby lakes and villages such as Mondsee Gmunden and Halstat. We stopped for lunch at Halstat and could have stayed a lifetime. We sp

Trip to Venice

It has only been a week since I returned and you would think I could get something posted before now. I did download the pictures earlier in the week but never got the text typed. I did not have the best weather but overall it was a very good weekend. I would have to agree with those that say you can do Venice in a long weekend. It is not a place I would want to go for more than a few days

The first place I stayed in in Italy and the place we ended up living together and getting married in. The place we built our first home together. This is a beautiful town rich in history. There is a lot to do at night with various clubs and bars down town and the mountains that surround the town are lovely to hike in or walk.

Well i am here visiting the inlaws. Not in Vicenza but a little to the north in Arsiero. Beautiful little town and Asiago is another wonderful town. The setting in the foothills of the dolomites could not be more gorgeous. Another few days here and then it will be up to Chiomonte in the Val di Susa but I'll get to that another time.

The Veneto

Leaving Lago Maggiore was hard after such an amazing time with Luisa and Eduardo. We packed up the Fiat and drove about 4 hours to Vicenza where we had set up accommodations at a small studio apartment sleeping on a futon. We knew nothing of Vicenza only that it was a good home base to explore Venice and Verona. The apartment was very cute and Vicenza turned out to be a very mellow classy town

They all have to be different it seems But my group made it to Venice and today we have seen the main square and the bell tower...I managed to capture a bit of the video I was imagining there. We studied a few paintings and went inside the church cathedral of St
